in the thread i linked, it was pointed out that currently it needs 4 coaches to make an attempt, and will only work if it can find 2 acceptable matchups
the suggestion was to keep 4 coaches requirement to make the attempt, but then if it fails to find 2 acceptable matchups, it should then attempt to make at least 1 acceptable matchup.
this means monoactivators don't spoil it for the other coaches. hence avoids deadzone dispair, so hopefully would have more people activating. |

It avoids the stable roommate problem (If the 4th coach can't be matched to anyone, then just ignore them)
It means monoactivators would get more games, because everyone would get more games
It means the original attempt at making 2 matchups could have requirements tightened, eg large TV gaps eliminated - rather than trying to make 2 bad matchups, it could fall back to just 1 good matchup |

If you add a minimum number of activated teams per coach then the 3 coach activation should work. I don't know how practical it would be to implement though. |

Thats come up before, also things like require activate eg a rock, a paper, and a scissors teams
It doesn't work for box beginners, even if they make 2 new teams instead of their one new team they actually wanted to play - because both teams will be evaluated the same for TV matching
Anyway, trying to enforce different behaviour on a playerbase isn't popular, generally
The other suggestion above goes some way to fixing the problem without having any real downside? And doesn't require alteration to behaviour |
