This would be my starting XI
2 blitzers 200K
9 Linemen 630K
2 RR 100 K
2 FF 20 K
1 Apo 50 K
Any recommendations on how to improve this team, please.
I'm using the 3rd edition HE team ( 12 miniatures + starplayer Prince Moranian)
En plus I have Jordell Freshbreeze and Hubris Rakarth and even Horkon that can be used as Starplayer or as proxys if needed |

I suggest 2 Blitzers, 1 Catcher, 8 Linemen, 3 RRs (starting HE need 3 rrs because they lack core skills, and if you start with 2 you will have to spend 100k to buy the 3rd later).
Invest the first winnings on the Apo, then add at least 1-2 Catchers.
Don't buy FF. |

Thrower is not absolutely needed.
Catchers are way better ball carriers (and sackers too). |

Yeah 2 Blitzers 1 Catcher 3 RR is the best starting roster. I wouldn't add Catchers too quickly, without skills they're too vulnerable. A good rule of thumb is get Blodge / Wrodge, then buy the next Catcher. Personally I like the Thrower and would get him next thing after the Apoth, provided you don't have to replace Blitzers or the Catcher. |

YEAH... what PC and MattDakka say.
Get Apoth ASAP... Add Thrower next.
Get Dodge on Catcher ASAP... just 2 TD's
Get Block OR Wrestle and Dodge on every Catcher before you add a new Catcher... always feed the TD's to the NEW Catcher until he has Dodge and Wrestle or Block.
I would say always nominate both Blitzers for MVPs... until they each have Dodge and Tackle. Maybe even keep doing that afterwards.
Throwers and Catchers can skill quick without help. |

I personally like the Phoenix Warriors
Pass, Safe Throw and access to P skills for 20k seems like decent value to me. People always say 'passing shouldn't be a plan A strategy, even for elves ..'. My reply to that is: it's not a perfect world and situations often come up where plan A is not an option ..
Plus, they have funky hats. |

I know what you mean, and they are fine players for the price. Good leader caddys, not saving a huge deal, but every 0.01% eh?
And yet catchers have ma8.
8
and come with ag4 as standard, and a similar amount of sure hands.
I gue88 either opti8n is goo8. |

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of the catchers. If you don't like the catchers, there's not much point in paying HEs
I agree that the throwers are more optional and it probably comes down personal preference/playstyle etc. |

When you're tired of using RRs on pickups? |

At low TV, I would score quick and try to rush your opponent on defense. With so few skills and rerolls, it'll be risky to try to stall out your offense too long. |
