Just a thought for a new kind of league or tourny... the 'Braaains! League'.
The idea is that everyone plays Undead and can only hire zombies, skeletons, and up to ONE ghoul. The rest you spend on FF, RRs, etc.
EDITED FOR SOCIAL SENSITIVITY:
Of course, enemy teams would constantly try to destroy your ghoul, but defending him is part of the strategy. It would be a very even playing field and I think it could be a lot of fun, not to mention thematic=)
What do you guys think? Fun or dumb? |

I grew up (in the midwest) playing a football-ish game called Smear the Queer on the playground. It just never really occurred to me how bad it sounded until I actually reminisced about it out loud in front of my friends (new friends, after about 20 years of growing up) and their collective jaws dropped. It had honestly never occurred to me. I felt like such a dumbass. Sort of when I saw Frankie Goes to Hollywood on VH1 after about 15 years of forgetting they ever existed... I had never even considered the actual implication (however unsubtle).
My wife (well, future girlfriend at the time) laughed insanely when I struggled to dig myself out of a hole and describe the game. She has decided that it is an indoctrination plot by rednecks to breed a, "Get 'im! He's diff'rent!" response. She has a frighteningly good point. You can brush it off by saying that it's just a reference to the one man on the field having a ball and being unlike everyone else but it's still a good point (since everyone else is literally trying to tackle/pummel the one guy with the ball... much more fun than it sounds).
Perhaps we can all just agree to call it "Get 'im! He's diff'rent!" Still the same fun playground game, but without the real or perceived attack on anyone particular person or group. Even I, the self-appointed PC Officer can let it go, since I did the same thing once. However, please keep it in mind in the future. Regardless of your intent, people can still take offense. The least you could do is _try_ to avoid it in the future when you can. Social contract and all.
Now back to the topic at hand, there is already a Skeleton vs. Zombie group for Instant Tourneys. You might want to take a look at it for ideas.
Did I mention that I actually won one? Oh, wait. That's off topic. Then I see no need to mention it.
It being that I won.
My winning has nothing to do with it. It just came to mind because it was skeletons and zombies.
... and I won one of them.
Me.

i live near san francisco and i can tell you that most "queers" dont mind being called queers but do take offense to things like smear the queer
and thats my 2 cents |
