Pretty straight forward question:
Can a Pa+2 player take a Pa stat upgrade? |

Makes the pass on a modified 1, so, with cannoneer they become
2+ 2+ 2+ 3+ for the ranges. |

I'm so confused by how that isn't a wildly inaccurate pass. But then I'm just confused by passing in general |

Agree... a modified 1 is a Wildly Innaccurate... but for the PA1+ dudes, thats accurate...
Makes me think that they really did originally design Wildly Innacurate to be on < 1 |

Okay, so it's pretty straightforward.
1) You declare a pass action. Move and measure as per the old rules.
2) Declare a target square.
3) Roll the d6. a 1 is a fumble, a 6 is accurate.
3a) if the result was 2-5, modify and compare to PA. If it's equal or greater, it's accurate.
3b) if the result was less than your PA but 2 or more, it's inaccurate, if it's less than your PA and 1 or less, it's wildly inaccurate.
4) Whether accurate, inaccurate, or wild, measure to the (new) target square, to see if anyone can interfere, go through all that rigamarole that's beyond this discussion.
This makes PA1+ even better, as it negates the first permutation of wildly inaccurate, turning it into a nice, accurate pass. It won't save you from fumbling, a natural 1 is a 1, but since you check PA before you check for WI, it's pretty sweet. |

Well this is why I was asking. I was going to try and develop a player like this.
Thx for all your clarification. |

Best thing with the High Elf Thrower, Safe Pass means if they do roll a 1, it also doesn't fumble and doesn't end your turn, so you can try to screen the unfortunate ball carrier and let him try again next turn.
Hilarious when they roll it a few times in a game, of course, but otherwise the passing is really good on that PA 1+, and MA 7 isn't bad and AG 1+ makes for nice contested pickups and all. |
