Still only halfway through winter, Aslak has announced that the Seven Samples of Decay will retire to their pool of filth for, as he put it, contemplate the coming battles with the other gods. We have been following him ever since his announcement that he was searching for the fabled forest goblins.

"Are you sure this is the way to the land of the forest goblins my lord?"

Aslak turns to Reply, "of course I'm sure, the goblin we tortured clearly said go straight east"

"It's just.. There are no trees, no vegetation.. I think we are in a desert.. "

Aslak looks up and around and seems surprised of their surroundings, however, determined to make the best of it, spots a stadium in the distance and starts herding his team towards it.
When they finally reach it, dehydrated and exhausted, they encounter some small humans playing ball. Clearly more agile than tough, Aslak spots the perfect team to play their last preparation game against, all thoughts on the forest goblins gone.

He approaches the opposing teams coach and arrange the game. Confidence is high among Aslaks team, but their physical condition leaves something to be desired and as the game begins, the tiny humans turn out to pack a punch! Smashing one Rotter to bits and sending a nurgle warrior off the pitch, it culminates with the beast of nurgle getting crowd surfed and mauled in the stands. He never returns to the pitch, instead electing to stay out and regrow the tentacles lost to the crowd.

After a horrid first half that saw as much nurgle blood as human blood, Aslak gives them a right talking to in half time, and when they return, they finally kick into gear and smash the humans back. One is even killed and infected with nurgles rot, a brand new replacement for the rotter smashed in the first half.

Spasmpus completes the comeback with a late winning TD!

Not letting his team relax for more than a night, they set out home the following morning, and back home we got this statement from Aslak about this winters pre-season games

"A smashing success! We are undefeated with both a positive TD and Casulty score, what more can you want? (editor: brilliant play, skillfull players, something resembling a plan??)
We have faces 3 quality teams and none have bested us! We are now going to spend the rest of winter perfecting our brew of nurgles poisons. Just wait, we will affect oh so many this coming spring season!"
