Beez and Wyrdstone, Goblins and Rats
Hey fellers. Thought I'd share pictures of my latest two (freelance) teams. Both of these projects are actually on ebay currently to get some last minute funds for my 4 month backpacking trip accross Asia (leave on tuesday...insane.) so if you think you might be interested in owning one (or two!?) of these teams please feel free to put a bid in: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=221009066565 and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221007664081?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

So! First up Da Beez Neez a Sleezy Greez, a converted Neomics goblin team with converted GW trolls and scratchbuilt snotling chainsaw:

More pictures probably easiest to see here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?340150-Da-Beez-Neez-a-Greezy-Sleez-Neomics-Goblin-Team

And second up - WYRD (Warlond Yarrik's Renegade Delinquants), a skaven team from Gaspez Arts with converted GW rat ogre:

Again more pictures here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?339608-Gaspez-Arts-Skaven-Blood-Bowl-Team

If you've got any questions with regards to paint recipes or just general comments and critsicms I'm always happy to hear and respond.

Cheers!

Awesome stuff but i wouldn't go above £150 pound for a team sorry, Still rated 6 for great work.
Posted by Burnalot on 2012-04-29 11:31:48
Awesome work. Do you take commissions?
Posted by Bob_Bifford on 2012-04-29 11:39:23
At them prices i hope not, I know a guy that will paint a whole team for £70 can give you his details if needed.
Posted by Calthor on 2012-04-29 11:45:03
That's incredible! I would buy that if I were rich. ;-)
Posted by Aflo on 2012-04-29 11:46:07
Heh, I do indeeed Burnalot, I'll pm you some details. Each to their own Bob, it's just a matter of how much time it all takes. I'm sure I could crack out a team for 70 quid but if it's aesthetics you're after (and alot of people aren't) there'd be a world of difference between the two.

And thanks Calth :)
Posted by Bob_Bifford on 2012-04-29 11:48:29
erm well i have compared your work to his and there is no differance so i know who i would use :)

Im not knocking your work like i said in my first post its awesome but some mugs do pay over the odds for a team when if you shop around you can get the same work for cheaper.
Posted by Aflo on 2012-04-29 11:57:43
Wow, do you have any links to his work? There's a good 50 hours work involved in the goblin team so if I charged £70 I'd be working for £1.40 which clearly jusr wouldn't be worth it. As it is commission wise I still charge below minimum wage and as such I think (along with literally everyone else I've explained it to) my prices are very reasonable. The only mug from the sounds of things is this friend of yours.
Posted by Bob_Bifford on 2012-04-29 12:08:35
he isnt a friend really just some one i have found on ebay that does all my paintings for me now :)
Posted by Aflo on 2012-04-29 12:11:09
Talk about suffering for your art...would still like to see some pictures from this masochistic maniac.

i took them pics with a phone so excuse the bad quality but its his painting.
Posted by Aflo on 2012-04-29 12:19:00
Well as I said each to their own. I think can see a difference.

Awesome stuff, it makes me wanna try and have a go at creating a scratch build necromancer team, and get my old painting and greenstuff up and running again. Really inspiring work you have made there, thumbs up to that ...

Teams look great! My favorite is the Chainsaw gobbo! :D

BEEDOGS! or BEE-GOBS

Beautiful paint job! Currently £185! Bit outside of my price range (3 kids & a mortgage sadly) but I'm glad they are up @ that price, they are totally worth it.

Bugger putting up my own paint jobs in a blog now, they're shit compared to these :)

Bob_Bifford:
Are you for real?
That might be good painting you have there, but the photos are piss poor. Thus your arguments are invalid.
Also, if this guy is selling this to fund his travels, your kind of argument, and situation for the argument is just plain stupid.
He deserves every nickle he gets for them... no matter how cheap you can find it somewhere else. Take your argument somewhere else.

BTW, really loved the BEE-gobs!

Posted by aradia on 2012-04-29 16:27:13
WoW! Worth every penny despite whatever anyone else says. Yours are clearly of a higher standard with all the freehand work and such. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Bloody amazing stuff Aflo! Is that a piece from a barbed strangler I see on the rat ogre?

Bob, first off, yes the camera does sort of detract from your argument, and second, I would say that Aflo's teams are topping those by a long shot; while the painting is reasonably well done on those models the conversion work here is phenomenal, and considering how much time must have been spent on it (if I spent that much time on a team I would end up with utter crap meself), it's well worth the dollar.

Not to mention how rude it is to waltz in on his blog post and advertise for your pal's "cheaper and better" painting service. It's one thing (that's a totally fine and polite thing if done in the correct way) to criticize someone's work, but it's a different thing all together to try to convince Burnalot that he'd be better off going to someone else for commission work after he asked Aflo specifically for it.

Beautiful work my friend. :D

if you get the time, I would love to hear a tutorial for the lighting effects you get on your rat team, i always wondered how people achieve that.

I´m in love with your skaven team... I AM! THEY ARE SOO SEXY!
But.. I dont play tabletop. Any chance I can get the pictures for my rats in [R] as player-pics? Cred to you ofc all over! ;-D

Brilliant work Adam, lovely.
Bob: 3 things:
- There's a huge range of paint qualities. If you can't one from the other, then I'm sure the guy you know gives the best value for you.
- Rude and wrong, as Enigma said.
- Those aren't pics of miniatures, they're pics of a monitor stand with stuff on the desk in the unfocused foreground.
