So, first impressions of a noob...
So then, having joined the site quite a while ago, I thought it was time I actually started playing some games. Mostly until now I've been playing the Cyanide version in the OCC league, and spectating games here to try and pick up tips. Today though, I decided to take the plunge, and two games in, I have two wins. I'm sorely tempted to retire with this record, as anyone that plays on Cyanide's version can readily check my stats there and see I'm well ahead of my normal curve :)

So, impressions:

Well, overall I like it. The interface takes a bit of getting used to, but seems relatively simple once you get the hang of it. So, I'll probably be playing more games. I'm not going to be playing a huge deal, maybe a game or two a week, but I don't know why I've held off for so long.

"The interface takes a bit of getting used to"

Its easier than cyanide plus cynide auto moves you through tackle zones which is perfetic.

You should do what i did instead of wasting money to a company like cyanide just donate it here.

How many versions of blood bowl cynide done now? and still can not get it right.

Welcome to fumbbl!
Fumbbl java client is far far better than cyanide, so is the community and the competitiveness

The sad thing is that Cyanide is paid to release the crap they have, while FUMBBL has an amazing client made as a hobby :)

Stick around! You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Your two opponents so far have a combined record of 0-0-11. You've been playing against your fellow rookies. Smile about your two wins, then go play somebody decent.

Oh, and the only thing Cyanide has on FUMBBL is graphics.

No, wait, I take that back. The only thing Cyanide has on FUMBBL is resolution. FUMBBL's old-school-looking interface may be a bit Tecmo, but it is soooo cute, and Cyanide is just another video game.

The important thing is that I'm awesome. Keep that in mind and you'll do fine.

I think the community also wants to say:

Awesome that you've started to play! Hope you continue to have a blast!

There are a few things I prefer about Cyanide, but all pretty minor.
1. You have a stadium, that gives a match atmosphere.
2. You have famous teams (though sadly this has been under utilised.
3. You have a 1 player game, though it isn't much cop...

Everything else I prefer FUMBBL.

Good post, there are quite a lot of "old farts" here on Fumbbl, so it's good you're showing involvement by posting. (most of the replies here are by said old farts btw).

Where of course "old farts" are the fellows that whine about the good old Living Rulebook 4 days, proclaim there love for 2nd edition miniatures, point you to the Help section of the site when you ask newbie questions and also seem to reside in the chat a lot (do that too, it's fun and it's a lot easier to communicate if you're trying to get (back in) a game!).

Given that of the 6 TT teams I own, 3 of them are 2nd edtn, I'm sure I'll get along marvellously with the "old farts" :D
