Well, I've just returned from an extended holiday across the pond. Much of which was spent learning the rules to baseball. A baulk anyone? Oh, and mentioning rounders, and the fact that girls play it in England generally doesn't go down too well! ;)

I'm now back and enjoying joining in on fumbbl again. As part of that I think I might abuse this blog for some blatant advertising, although I hope you'll find at least some of it reasonably entertaining at the same time!

First off, a new game of Diplomacy is about to kick off. It’s a large scale board game (which fortunately works wonderfully across the net) pitting the countries of Europe against each other in the early 20th century. It’s more about your wits, your charisma and your down right underhandedness than military might and it’s brilliant! If you want to know more either watch the new game as it progresses (I’ll be starting a forum thread for it once the game kicks off officially) or stick it in Google and have a poke about. Secondly, a new month brings a new series of OCCS tournaments. These are monthly tournaments in [L] which are split into TR bands. There are also several majors each year which the monthly tournaments build up to. If you’re interested the league is always recruiting, and I for one think it’s being run fantastically by bampf. Expect some updates on the fortunes of the three teams I have entered in various tournaments this month. Two tough first round match ups against lauth81 could see my early demise in a couple but a bye in the final one means I’ll see at least one second round match this time!

Now, as the unofficial roving reporter for the OCCS I have taken it upon myself to start up some forum threads. Borrowing from Plorg’s Picks for the official fumbbl tournaments (thanks again Plorg!) I’ve begun expressing my humble opinions on who shall be progressing to the later rounds of the tournaments. Come along and share your thoughts (and more importantly mock me when I’m wrong!) on the thread, here.
