Space Tails vs. Rata Blanca - Who are you rooting for?
The finals for Warpstone Open XI have been set - and it looks to be a great matchup. Two excellent coaches going at each other. Rata Blanca certainly seems the favorite with their buffed out thrower leading a well rounded group of rats. Space Tails lost quite a few players in the semifinals...will it be too much?
The real question though is - who do I root for?
The case for Rata Blanca: I like skaven the most and would like to see them win more majors...this is (I think) the most accomplished skaven team that can add yet another major win to its already impressive trophy case for a true elite status and possibly make a case for top team in the history of Fumbbl...really impressive stuff and I like Reisender, he is always quality coach to play against. So I am tempted strongly to root for Rata Blanca.
The case for Space Tails: Lizards really need to win a major, having come so close - they are a fun team that I enjoy. They are the underdogs - always fun to root for the underdog. Also, I respect anisdrin - who has lost quite a number of major finals (one that I remember very well), so would be nice for anisdrin to get another win after so many close calls. 2 great coaches, 2 great teams... hard to make a choice.
I will root for Space Tails just because they played the Screamers and won fair and square (aka without cheesy interceptions!) :)

I would root for Space Tails purely for the fact that lizards need to cross the finish line victorious for a major. Nothing against Rata Blanca's impressive history... would love to see the scaley ones get off the schniede.

Rata Blanca, with Raton earning his legendary skill in the process, along with a random mutation.
That guy deserves it for the number of times he's had to tolerate the crowd asking "why is there a ball with a T on it?" or similar.
Nice to see he's got an icon now.

They're both "feel good" stories as potential winners aren't they?
No obvious bad guy in this final, neither race particularly fits the "empire of evil" figure in the meta (although fluff wise...), both are great coaches and both teams have storied histories.
Lizards have always been my favourite race in bloodbowl, so there's that. But it's the Skaven-hosted event...
Thoralf is rooting for a coin toss? I reckon overtime would be nice. Because a good, long, well-played game would be a fitting end no matter who wins :) Good luck to both.

I wonder why it didn't show with an icon, as there hasn't been a name change. I guess as an old player he was linked to the old icons, which don't work with the new client. Interesting.

Raton was resurrected with the scroll from FC and after that he had no rat thrower icon and his Tv was 20 to high - my guess is he lost his player type in the process of resurrection, therefore his 2 skills counted for 30TV each (like doubles) not 20 and the icon didnt show.

I played around with this (when I was an admin). If you brought a player back who didn't have a position now. As an example, you could add a Storm Vermin to your roster. It ignores the limits, but you didn't get an icon (as there's no such player now). However throwers haven't changed, so that shouldn't affect it.
However a year or so ago we changed how the client viewed icons (they're done by set now, not individual). My guess is your old player was linked to the old set not the new one for the new client.
