Concessions
I have been wondering about concessions lately. Wondering if the button for a concession should only be able to be activated by an admin. Just seems way too easy for a guy to concede. I have seen it done numerous times, and very rarely would I consider the concession to be what is allowed under league rules. I freely admit that I am not a great player, and have taken my fair share of horrible beatings. In my 1100+ games on FUMBBL over the years, I believe I have conceded twice.

Compare that to my young Chaos Pact team. They have now played 9 games and have been given a concession twice. The first one did not even come close to meeting the guidelines for a legal concession. I was leading 1-0 at halftime, and had the only permanent injury was to one of my players. The most recent one probably could have gotten approved. I had killed 3 players by halftime (one of them could have just been an SI, but he chose to use the apo, the apo killed the guy, and he chose that result. Again, though, it is a 1-0 game. He still had 2 turns to try to score with elves, and then I would have to kickoff to start the 2nd half. Not exactly a totally one sided game where he had no chance to do anything. But, I was not upset about that concession like I was the other one.

When it's all said and done, I would just like the chance to enjoy my rare wins. Again, I will pose the question. The rules for a legal concession are pretty straightforward, but certainly are open to some interpretation. Would it make sense for the concession button to only be activated with admin approval?

Thanks,

Chris aka CW

I think admins are busy enough, personally. Having the concessions work the way they do is a necessary evil.

It's easy. If you're a pussy, concede!

Et voila.

If you see what you think is an illegal concession you are supposed to report it to the admins in a support ticket through the Help->Support menu.

Of course a lot of people don't do this because they don't want to be mean or can't be bothered or whatever but if you think admins should have a look at a concession a system is in place for that.

conceding is legal, under certain circumstances.

do you really want to have to wait around for hours for an admin cos yr opponent has been bashed to bits?

The reason, you have rules about concessions at site level (that deviates from game rules) is that its a transfer of resources. I assume whoever conceded to you did not do so to help your team?

I will concede (see what I did there) that it is probably more of a pain in the butt for the admins than it would be worth. What else could be done to make conceding less of an option? Or, am I the only one that gets really irritated when guys concede?

I think the rules for a legal concession are good. But, I would bet that 1 in 20 concessions that I have seen are actually legal concessions. So, could there be a more severe penalty for those that concede illegally?

If admins are made aware of a coach who is conceding illegally they will contact him and give him a warning, if he keeps violating the rules he will be banned, how much more severe a penalty do you want?
