That's pretty funny, the bits I''ve seen of the series anyway. I lost interested in GoT when they started killing the wolves unfairly.
What is it with potentially cool American series and unnecessary animal cruelty.......The Walking Dead's the same.

LOL!

In fairness to GoT, there's unnecessary cruelty to pretty much everyone and everything. There is no amount of money you could pay me to trade places with any living thing in that whole series.

I take it you have not read the books HM. ;) If you tuned out "when they started killing wolves unfairly" then you probably haven't gotten to the point when "they started killing all the characters unfairly". After how they handled the wolves in the show, that's what made me think they were going to get the the whole HBO series right (and I have not been disappointed so far).

Actually, of all the people I know who stopped reading the books or watching the show, the "wolf part" was pretty much the breaking point. Either you're able to accept a lupicidal world or you aren't. Once you've gotten over the "oh, this is _that_ kind of series" shock, you're a little better prepared for the rest.
It takes a long time to work out the paltry few characters that GRRM may plan to keep around long-term. I say "may" because the series hasn't been entirely written yet, so there's still plenty of time for anyone to potentially suffer an ignoble, brutal death.

It should be obvious by now that the HarvestMouse is far too nice a guy for this kind of thing. ;)
Maybe when this is done they'll do some Joe Abercrombie.
They could have Guy Ritchie direct and episode or two. ;)

Not that big a fan of the show, best bit from season 2 RPG:
GRATUITOUS BREAST INTERLUDE!
LITTLEFINGERS DANCEPARTY!
Sorry...we have to do that every 60 seconds.

Good fun.
Dan> Your the man, can I borrow the last two books? Haven't been able to locate them anywhere... AFAIK only 5 of the planned 7 books are finished.
Posted by koadah on 2013-02-25 17:39:04
Some of the books are pretty big so they have been split down.
In the UK books 3 & 5 are split in two making 7 books.
In France it's about 13 books so far I think. ;)
Don't wanna scare people off with big heavy looking tomes.

Big, heavy-looking tomes are the best kind. Also, since most people have a decent grasp of how heavy books are, the heavy-looking ones actually are fairly heavy.
Didn't know the books were broken up in the UK and France versions. Pretty easy to break them up actually, since there are only a few real plot-line resolutions anywhere at all.
The fact that 5 is one of the ones broken up is sort of a gut-punch though, since 4 & 5 together were originally supposed to be one book, but got too long. Feast for Crows has little resolved and half the POV characters are omitted.

I'm guessing that you don't live in the UK Maysrill ;)
When you have to stand on your hour long train journey every morning & evening big heavy tomes tend to lose their appeal. ;)
I know one guy who used to tear chapters out of his paperbacks as soon as he had read them. Makes em easier to carry as you progress. ;)
Not a problem for kindle & audio books though.

There are only 5 books so far. What imbeciles in other countries do because they are too weak to lift a 1200 page book is irrelevant.

That's the series that will never finish, version 2.0.
