No hands debacle
I was there... http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=3006906

And no, there is nothing unethical about Ravenmore not telling about the Buzzing. It was a Major, after all.
Thanks for the lols...

well im not pissed off with him lol, if i was at home id have checked it and realised it wasnt ironman which id convinced myself it was (havent got the lrb on the laptop) but

i dont think the "its a major" argument holds much water tbh, presumably if id been on irc someone would have said something and in any event in the reverse situation i would say something even if it was the world cup final, cos id wanna feel i won cos i played well not cos the other guy was a noob ; p maybe by the third time when he had the game in the bag and it was just causing me to lose spps he could have said something. i dunno. dont care much either tbh, good picture tho
(why do i always fk up in majors, anyone remember my dwarfs v sillysods flings in the FC last year? LOL!)

With all apologies to blocknroll, it was absolutely hilarious and a wonderful atmosphere in spectator chat. Some of the biggest lols i've had on fumbbl.

It will certainly go down in FUMBBL history as a replay you have to see.

Better luck next time BlocknRoll, everyone makes mistakes.

Just wanted to raise 3 points about this:

#1 I did a similar thing (probably worse) back in the Warpstone Open - forgot to hire stars and wanted to restart the game, which is ofcourse not allowed. So I'm not feeling big about this, since I know how it feels :)
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&op=view&id=2918300

#2 I don't think I've crossed the line in any way, the GLT being a major tournament. In open play I would surely advise my opponent.

#3 You have to admit, the spectators were loving the game which otherwise would have been just another dull Average Coach vs. (Insert BlockNRolls desired skill level here)Coach game. And this wasn't at BlockNRolls expense, or mine, for that matter so I saw no reason to end it.

I tried to make it fun for everyone, and went for the slightly more risky road of scoring as much as possible. At the same time minimizing damage to BnR's team ( not using DP's and deciding against bashing surfs and stalling in favour of a quick score).

With all that said, I am not the best coach around, and feel BnR had at least an equal, possibly better chance to win. I took all the help I could get.

roll on lrb5 and no more silly handicaps lol!

It was a EPIC game. And comments about giving him sure hands was pure gold.

I agrree with the way Ravenmore handled it, if you enter a major you should know the rules and don't expect your opponent to help you.

I'd be inclined to let my opponent know about buzzing, major or not... but obviously there no obligation to, it'd be fair game even in a normal ranked match.

Plus, it sounds like one of those stories blocknroll will enjoy hearing about over and over :D

I missed it...

If it wasnt bugabuse, then there is nothing unethical about it. Cant even see how that can become an issue.

Although I might have told an opponent if mistaken, I would not expect it from an opponent neither would I feel bad about my opponent not telling. It is only one self to blame.
Posted by blocknroll on 2010-05-17 06:48:41
yes i think the "issue" is if I'M wrong in that i WOULD have said something, not if hes wrong that he didnt. although when the game was won with 3 turns left i'm surprised he didnt mention it then (3-1 up with a useless no hander) also i dont know how many people who specced would have seen me say right at the start that id got confused and thought that buzzing was ironman, before even we had kicked off. anyway, lol
Posted by DonTomaso on 2010-05-17 10:31:16
I was spectator #36, and I missed your Buzzing=Ironman comment. In the end I believe we were 70 or so...

Anyway, it was great fun, and please, B'n'R, you're a good guy, and it is not as heartless teasing as it might seem.

Better luck next Major...

That's an apic LOL alright.

Right up there with the player who kept fouling the iron man and bitching about how his dp sucks.
Posted by blocknroll on 2010-05-18 15:28:59

Posted by pythrr on 2010-05-19 07:27:06
