Moderating
I've been getting increasingly frustrated with the amount of hostility some moderators get. Sure, the moderators may not like me. Or maybe they do. Whatever the case is, the environment of the internet is a place where common decency often goes out of the window.
One could state that this blog is redundant, but I don't believe it is.
People like Angie (yes, I'm dead serious) work hard on fumbbl, and have to put up with triple the abuse you could probably even imagine. Wether or not she hoovers around on vacuumcleaners in her spare time is not up to me to decide, but keeping her kids happy, and keeping a community of kids from breaking rules while taking excessive punishment is huge for me. The same goes in a similar way for Candlejack, Topper, Tymless, Christer, etc. etc (all mods included here, though I don't know if the men ride vacuums)...
People, community, you. Do something about it. Instead of arguing why the mods are wrong, try to accept the rulings, explain your side, and then accept whatever punishment you receive. I've been wrong a few times on fumbbl. I regret those errors, but what is done is done. However, the mods, for me are just and right. They are keeping a vast amount of people in a game within a certain guideline, and suffer immensely from ironically, coaches I like.
You coaches know who I'm talking about. Call me whatever you want, but I'm fed up with the continual harassing of moderators. They're only human. Stop treating them as machines who are wrong by default because either A: you think you're smarter, or B: because you just like to rage against the machine.
I can't emphasize enough that all the moderators are doing a stand up job. All you haters can climb up a tree for all I care, I'm glad the current crew is around.
In light of these comments, I've decided to try to do my part in the fumbbl community. From now on, any true swearing is completely banned from my vocabulary, and the rest of my behaviour will be spotless.
..........Or at least, I'm going to try my best. God I hope I succeed.
