Thoughts on my CR/Win/Losing/Unbeatean Streaks
Hrmm.. I reached the #2 spot in CR a little over a week ago. I never thought that was possible when I first joined this site a few years ago. Top 13 was good enough for me but when I kind of stopped caring about CR and played much more relaxed, I just started not losing. However, Blood Bowl is weird sometimes and just when you think you're somewhat decent at this game you get humbled really quick.

I've just beat my old unbeaten streak of 26 games by one game and it is now set at 27. Now I've lost 2 straight games and the last time I've had a good streak going, I followed it up with 3 straight losses that devastated my confidence in my playing ability. I took an ~8 month break after that.

When I'm on that high I feel like I can't be beaten and it usually is true (during the xfl tourney & beyond). When I'm on the low (like I am now) I feel like I can't ever win again. Usually this is the point where I think I need to take a break from the game, recharge, and come back months later.

I will say this, my points of good play coincide with how much I'm on the site. When I'm on one of those streaks I'm really active as far as watching/playing a ton of games and even reading forums and blogs. When it's on the downstreak I don't think my focus or my interest is what it normally would be and my playing time is spotty at best.

I wonder how many Coaches feel like I do. A saying I hear in sports, "Don't get too high and don't get too low." I should probably follow that to stay on an even keel.

Anyway, might be time for a break. :D

I understand your feelings, but I just gravitate away from the useless R and B games, and stick out with my L teams.

Though when they get chewed on it does suck, but I figure everyones in the same boat, and there is a 'purpose' to playing in a league, as opposed to playing R or B where there ultimately is no purpose.

Unless you're into shiny badges I suppose.

2 Game lose streak and Iam reading a time for a break blog.

Really?

Don't have a break - get straight back in! That's surely how "real life" athletes work...?

top 2, yeah, you probably have been too high.

I just recently had 4 month break. Since my return I have played about 15 games or so, and dozen of those have been just plain awful. My cr has dropped from nearly 165 to almost 150, none of those dozen matches was I in situtation where I could possibly win, they were just uphill battle to draw or bitter loss.

I have no idea what is going on. I am probably playing really bad too and lost my confidence in winning, and I'm really frustrated especially to opponents who start whining after 1 failed roll.

But if you are really worried about losing 2 games in a row...
Take a look at your loss%, count statistical probability of losing 2 in a row, and look why on earth you don't lose 2 in a row more often? This is a dice game after all and not even the best can win all the time. Assuming so would be foolish :)

Confidence is big I think. And no I'm not taking a break because of those two losses. It's because I've lost a lot of my drive to play even before those losses happened. They just served as the wake up call stating, "Hey! You're not playing for fun anymore. Come back when you are."

If I kept playing it wouldn't surprise me if I lost a few more in a row. Just need to recharge and get the passion to play again.

Kelkka, yes it's a dice game with luck involved so I kind of treat it like I'm in a casino. When you see your luck turn for the worse it's time to step away and try again another time. Hopefully you get back on track as far as your streak is going. If you can, get a game that looks to be in your favor to build your confidence back up. Everyone needs one of those.

Appreciate the comments.
