Where i' m wrong ???
In a message someone wrote to me "you were, in their experience, a really slow, annoying, badly-behaved, and downright disrespectful coach." i' d like to know, especially by coach i played against, what i did to gain this consideration in the fumbbl world... I really don' t understand, help me to became a better coach, explain my mistakes... Thanks....

No idea, but being really slow generally annoys many coaches.
Do you take over 3 minutes per turn on average? If you do, work on it.

Well I HATE slow players and have played you and didn't think you were too slow.
Posted by Favalessa on 2012-02-28 10:23:23
Blader you also put me in your blacklist after only 1 match played.... Why ??? Normally i do my turn in less than 2 minutes, replay are there, but attitude that really hurt me are the following two...
Pythrr you are not forced to answer, if you can help you are welcome, if not spend your time talking to your friends....
Thanks jimmy, a light in the dark..

Don't take it so harsh. People use blacklist for all kinds of things to note on oppos, not necessarily a "this guy is evil list" So don't worry about it.

Play your game the way you like it.

Bonus info:
Expect pythrr to reply to anything you post. Thats what makes him so lovable :)

It would please me if something would make you feel more welcom to FUMBBL.

My condolances for your situation. I hope it turns well. :-I

Favalessa, my listing on the Blacklist states that you ragequit from a game.

As stated by others, I used my blacklist to record various infractions, no two people are in there for exactly the same thing.
Posted by DonTomaso on 2012-02-28 12:10:25
Some people might blacklist you for not chatting. Reading the explanation in your bio, I can see why that might be case... A simple chat in IRC could have cleared that...

But that other coach, whomever it is, is definetly in the wrong sending that PM you have posted. Hang him high.

And also, don't think that the BlackBox crowd is the norm. In BB you'll find the antisociable Counter Strike crowd, who couldn't be polite if their life depended on it. At least, I hope that is not the norm. Go Ranked!
Posted by Diclon on 2012-02-28 12:24:24
I guess, I'm one of the coaches that blacklisted you after only one game. If you really wanna know the reason, then you can send me a PM asking for the reason. I wont be writting my reasons in this blog. But I can't help notice that you actually do the same thing, you also blacklist people after only one game(including me).
Posted by DonTomaso on 2012-02-28 12:37:13
Also... don't trust people with a long blacklist with no ppl in their whitelist. ;)
Posted by pythrr on 2012-02-28 12:55:26
DonTomaso: "But that other coach, whomever it is, is definetly in the wrong sending that PM you have posted. Hang him high."

why so sir? said coach seems to have been reporting what others had told him/her. how can you make such a judgement with no idea of that the context of the PM might be.

Posted by garyt1 on 2012-02-28 13:00:59
People appreciate a bit of chat. Especially good luck, gratz etc as a minimum.
Posted by DonTomaso on 2012-02-28 13:22:48
Pythrr: Against better judgement I'm not going to ignore you. ;)

If someone writes a PM to someone explaining that they are not wanted or welcome on Fumbbl, I'd say that 100 times out of 100, they are wrong.
If Christer writes it, it isn't wrong, but I'm fairly certain Christer wouldn't write a PM like that.

Clear?
Posted by pythrr on 2012-02-28 13:37:50
Don Tomaso, you have no idea what you are commenting on here.

And I do not know where you are reading that anyone told him he was not welcome on fumbbl... I just do not see that from what the OP posted.
Posted by DonTomaso on 2012-02-28 13:49:46
pythrr: A bit unclear... I meant the PM he has posted in his Bio.

I know what I am commenting. That you do not, is a different matter. So plz stop saying that I don't.

I could have been clearer with what PM I meant, though. But I still knew. ;)

Posted by DonTomaso on 2012-02-28 13:50:28
pythrr: And it was a league, not Fumbbl.. but still pretty nasty attitude.
Posted by pythrr on 2012-02-28 14:09:36
Err, DT, no you really do not.

I look forward to your apology.

Posted by DonTomaso on 2012-02-28 14:15:42
See what I mean Pythrr?

You are fixed on something I haven't even commented on. (The other coaches pm back and forth.)
I'm commenting on the PM-attitude about not being wanted.

Or, was it your PM to this coach? Could you be that person? Hmm....

I really don't care if it was, though...
And I'm gonna follow my judgement now and NOT feed the troll.
Bye.

Posted by pythrr on 2012-02-28 14:24:37
read the context of the pm and you will see how very very wrong you are sir.

i pointed out above that the OP was leaving out the context of the pm (which he selectively quoted). now that you can see the whole pm conversation, I'm sure that you will agree that you really did not know what you were talking about. and that is fine.

Ok, so it was a league commissioner giving the reason for your removal from the league and it was more than one coach that had asked for you to be removed. Got it.

The message is blunt, the guy knows that, but it's his job to make his league work. If a lot of the league won't play you he's kind of obligated to remove you. No idea what specific actions you may have done to annoy people though.
Posted by Favalessa on 2012-02-28 16:02:50
Corvidius, you hit the point, now i don' t blame someone for refuse my application, i only ask to coaches who plaied against me how i do for gain the reputation that league commissioner told to me, noise, annoying, badly-behaved, downright disrespectful are serious attitude i think, so i ask i' m so unfair or league commissioner thought this on me and tell " other coaches report this about you".... If i' m wrong i could be better in the future.... I' ll never apply anymore in that league....
Pythrr i know your thought and really isn' t important for me, you are nothing for me, i ask to other coaches if i'm as you wrote, not to become better at your (and your friends) eyes, but to be a more correct player for the whole fumbbl community... so please go away....

How about some of the coaches post and let him know the reason. Anonymously via the commish if necessary.

It would be piss poor if they kicked him out for not being able to use chat. Though ideally he should have stated that in his bio and when arranging the match.
Posted by pythrr on 2012-02-28 17:03:47
koadah

this had been done before he ever wrote this blog

the reasons have been explained to him in person and via pm by numerous coaches

if you like i can send you the pm which shows that he was treated very politely UNTIL he started abusing people and generally tossing his toys out of his pram

and FYI, it has nothing at all to do with him not being able to use chat.

best wishes

It does reflect poorly on a coahc when he posts a blog to whine at the unfairness of a decision regarding him. Makes me far more inclined to believe the commissioner than I would otherwise.

Posted by Favalessa on 2012-02-28 17:25:17
Repeat: this blog don't contest the decision, is only a request to the coaches i eventually hurt to know where i'm wrong like the title say.
I'm not here to whine about the decision of commissioner, life go on, i only want to know WHERE I'M WRONG to don't be wrong forever, pythrr feel as part in cause, but i never mentioned him until he exponed with his comments.
The past is happened, i'm looking to the future, in my blog there wasn't the name of the coach who send the message and other riferiment.
Posted by Leilond on 2012-02-28 17:48:02
As an example:
I put you in my black list because you fouled a good skille positional in turn 16.
You've the right to do it, but you recive nothing for doing it and you know that you can possibly damage another player
As I said, you have the right to do it, like we have the right to don't like it
Posted by Favalessa on 2012-02-28 17:53:25
leilond, you are the only one that i understand because i remember i was unfair....
Posted by JanMattys on 2012-02-28 17:56:13
Haters gonna hate.

Other than that, behave like you would do if playing against a friend while enjoying a cold beer together and no one will ever blacklist you.

Except assholes, but they're pretty much doing you a favor by blacklisting you, so it doesn't count as a bad thing.
Posted by koadah on 2012-02-28 19:51:46
@JanMattys Dangerous advice Jan. A lot of people are really not going to understand the way that you talk to your friends. ;)

I played you a couple of times, and although I didn't appreciate the lack of chat, I figured it was due to technical issues as this is really common lately. One thing I'd recommend you to do is to get IRC. It really goes a long way when it comes to arranging games and it allows you to chat regardless of screen size and other similar factors.
Posted by pythrr on 2012-02-28 21:20:09
eh Jeffro,

that's costly popcorn.

Posted by Russo on 2012-02-28 22:24:48
RIGHT!!! I am going to wade into this as I feel pythrr is taking flak for something that was a group decision.

OBBA is a long standing and arguably one of the most sucessful league groups on FUMBBL. It is based on a community spirit and coaches trying to contribute fluff, sportsmanship and fun for the benefit of all.

We have had some duds in the league over the years and there have been some sad implications of our admitting people who were borderline from the start. Over the years myself and other senior members of the league have debated newcomers and especially where we have had bad feedback in chat or through directly playing games against people.

Unfortunately benefit of the doubt is great when there are no long term ramifications; but in OBBA, coaches dropping out or causing bad-feeling in a league where lots of coaches are co-existing happily is definately something we do not want.

At one point we used to enforce a rule about coaches having had to have played an admin member and have 100 L games under their belt before we accpeted them.

Standards have been high from day 1.

Now I have never played Favalessa but I have specced a recent game of his against a player I know well. Other coaches I know have mentioned issues around his playing speed and a disconnection. No chat is a an issue but not critical as I know his issues were tech issues) there are many non-english speaking caoches and I will not be prejudiced against them.

Overall amaongst the committee we decided that we would not admit Favalessa this time round based on some doubts. If he established a good record over the next year then we would happily re-consider future applications.

pythrr made a polite refusal, which then degenerated into a tantrum on Favalessa's and our suspicions were shown to be bang-on.

In OBBA we have been known to reduce the number of active leagues in a pre-season if we did not feel there were sufficient coaches of merit available. I would happily have a league less than admit coaches who did not honour the spirit of the long-lived and happy ship called OBBA
