Yes, that's not cool, but you could have just not played. The game was definitely not something you signed up for when agreeing to it, so you know, I wouldn't have played.

What did we *just* talk about, sir? No more ranked! We spent half our game chatting and you didn't learn *anything* ;)

Naw, it was totally my mistake. Challenged one team, got offered another race, assumed he meant the team within 10 TS, thought about it, accepted; he did tell me the team name, so if I hadn't had reading fael I would have been able to turn it down, & I was in game before I realized. Hence the memo to self, rather than the full on wrath post.
Even so, I felt it was low.
lol @ pubstar. teh trew, teh trew.

I would have played down 20 ts beat him up and then beat him down. Get the win and write a blog jumping up and down on his dead pixel carcass..
Just me.

Yeah, the fact of the TS-advantage counter-offer is the kind of stuff that turns me off from Ranked. I still play and enjoy Ranked, but you've gotta be a nitpicky bureaucrat about making sure people aren't trying to put one over on you, checking for stockpiles of cash, silly TS disparities, wizards hired, etc.
I had a shorthanded lizardman squad the other night and challeged someones elves, who had about 18 TS on me, but no handicap. He countered with a chaos team up 12 TS, with a handicap, and with 3 Tackle + MB players. I was already probably doing the guy a favor, taking a match with his high-FF elf team (my lizzies needed cash and have great FF of their own) and he wanted to play a dodge-wrecker team with garbage FF.
As time goes on I play more and more Box because of this *bleep*

Atleast in the Box when the dang scheduler puts you up against the dodge-wrecker with garbage FF you can just throw up your hands and say nuffle screwed you. That is a plus.
my win/loss ratio is starting to look more like that it is not because Iam not a good coach. It rather is I dont spend more than 5 minutes on average on the gamefinder and just play who ever is willing to play.

"Yes, that's not cool, but you could have just not played. "
- no. Once the game is connected, you must play, as long as the game is one u agreed to. ie: if he says "play my orcs" and you say yes, and he brings orcs, then its game on. It's the old bat n switch, but if you then refust to play, then you get TEH BAN.
