When people complain of their bad luck, I often say something like "I've had my share of that too..." and "Bah, you just made 3 cas against my AV9, shut up and play!" and those times someone really has some bad luck - like having their turn end on skulls near the beginning 2 rounds in a row - I'll just acknowledge it and keep playing.
But I am currently playing the most unlucky game I have ever played and likely ever will. The only lucky part is that it is a new team in unranked so no harm done outside the game but... I JUST NEED TO VENT OUT A LITTLE! GEEZ!
Half 1:
***Rounds 1-5, pretty normal game. Nothing very special. My kick. Opponent scores once, I'll end up losing both rerolls.
***Round 6: My troll slayer dies in a single die block from opponent's chaos beastman.
***Round 7 - I could score a TD this round with a single GFI or take a risk and wait to next turn. I GFI, roll 1, round ends.
***Round 8 I could still take the ball with another guy, only need one GFI. It fails. Round and half ends.
Half 2:
***Rounds 1-2: I need to spend both my rerolls.
***Round 3: I can only get and need a single die block against opponent, I have block so 3/6 are awesome, all but skull okay. I get a skull. Round ends on first action.
***Round 4: Look at round 3.
***Round 5: Look at rounds 3 & 4
***Round 6: Look at rounds 3, 4 & 5.
***Round 7: Despite those, I miraculously could score a TD, I only need a single GFI. As you can guess, I fail and round ends.
***Round 8: I can no longer win, it is obvious that opponent gets 1-0. I think that atleast after all this crap I'll get a couple of SPPs from completes VP. I'll make my turn, then wait for opponent's...
...and wait...
...and wait...
...and ask if he is still there...
...and come to write this blog...
...after about 10 mins I'll go to IRC to ask what happens when time runs out and the opponent has disconnected...
...and notice that it was me who has disconnected, I've kicked the ethernet cable out.
After reconnecting, opponent wasn't there anymore, ofcourse.
1 hour well spent.
