Titans humbled
From the dizzy heights of not just playing in the human premier league but winning a game in it the Titans fell impressively quickly culminating in my last game: a 2 nil shut out plus 2 deaths and an MNG. Farewell Ella Fitzgerald, RIP! She was an awesome catcher and spp hog. Here is the match,

Any fellow human coaches care to comment on what I did wrong?

Nb I have fired my ogre again as he really annoyed me in the game early on and then rolled a normal skill up

I watched it. I'll say a few things.. coming from a coach who still makes all the silly basic mistakes, and often.

I have jammed myself up one sideline more times than I can count. It is always a bad plan.

On your first turn you blitzed a black ork you had little chance to hurt, and then prepared to run up one side line. Orks WANT you to do just that.. to move forward, get yourself boxed in, and have to bash your way out, which seldom goes well against the bash kings.

Even if you score, they have 4+ turns to bash and score themselves. I suggest the opposite. Back away. They have to follow you back to your own end with their 5 MA4 players, or risk getting out bashed in by a lesser force. You rob them of a few blitzes and their ability to lock you up early bashing. Once they are in your end, pin them wide and spread out with a few sacrificial linos, and run around one end with all your force. If you can just get by you might be home free.

It's a plan I've used against several very good coaches with success. Sometimes it backfires. But with humans everything backfires. But jamming a sideline on offense USUALLY backfires.

By the second half hope was pretty much lost, barring a "Nuffle Double." That's the point where you need TWO stupid silly lucky things to happen to have a chance. (just to tie)

And get a kicker. My last game is a textbook example where I get bashed to pieces and lose 2-1 if I didn't have a kicker. But I had one, so won 2-0.

Just my 2 cents.

Oh.. and when your are rightly sick of Ogres, put him on the LoS to save some lineman and some cash. Death before firing.

Todays cgame against the Chaos Dwarves was a good example of the "retreat and spring forward" tactic in action.

The other coach started to get sour when he wasn't bashing my brains in enough to win.
