There was a time where you could qualify for Fumbbl Cup in instant tournaments. I guess that was from back then before we had kids and jobs

@Qaz: Back before the user base was halved by people going to Cyanide and halved again by people going to the Box.

You could try a no TV limits smack or allowing Box teams.

Also, a lot of people do not use chat these days so you would need some advert on the site. E.g. "Instant Smack now recruiting" on the Front, home, games and gamefinder pages.

Clearly some (many?) people don't even know that there are (were) such things as instant smacks.

You could also have an instant smack alert group so that you could easily send a group PM to people who might be interested.

I remember when people used to pick SMACKs. Not in too dissimilar a way to how those that do it in B do it now.

Usually, the instant smacks are started from within the IRC chat. You enter the channel ("Minors" it was I think) and add to your nick, in which kind of smack (TV dependent) you would participate. Then you wait until 8 participants gather. If this happens and a mod is around, the smack is initiated. Note that it is mandatory to have time for at least two matches in a row when entering the instant smacks.

you could get them started in any channel. you just needed to keep posting in the main chat till you had enough people willing to play at a certain TS (now TW) once you did this you needed to contact an admin to set it up and away you go. First round or 2 (i forget) had to be played straight away after that you had a certain amount of time for the semi and final.
