First Game!
I got my first game in today, and what a stomping. First off, the client crashed repeatedly (I blame my Ubuntu install) and I couldn't see the bottom part of the screen. Thankfully I fixed that by running the java client through WINE. Go figure. Yoshi-san's elves beat me into the ground, but I almost scored once. That counts for something, right?

The severe beatings are normal and will hopefully stop as you get more games in. The talent pool here is quite deep, but great to play against.
The crashing is likely your Ubuntu, as the client is usually quite stable. Can always ask in the forums if it persists.

Welcome to the party! I didn't score until my 5th game so if you almost scored already you're doing something right!
Remember, if you kill all the opponents mens, it'll be easier to score.
