Top training tips
this weekend i threw on pair of jeans for the first time in a while(well tried too) and to my horror discovered that i was carrying a bit of an overspill around the belly area. Having taken quite a load of pride in my health all my life this offended my sensiblities even more than James Blunts' latest album so I threw myself back into training and thought I'd share some of my top tips for weight training.
1. Never lift more than you can without a spotter.
2. Never ever lift more than you can without a spotter.
3. Never ever, ever, lift more than you can without a spotter.
4. Never lift more than you can without a spotter even if you think that you can.
5. Never lift more than you can without a spotter even if thats the weight you used to lift 6 months ago.
6. Never lift more than you can without a spotter.
7. Never lift more than you can without a spotter.
8. Under no circumstances must you ever do any of the above if your squat rack is in the converted loft and you are required to climb back down via a narrow and steep stair case.

If anyone needs to contact me I'll be in a ice bath waiting for the pain to leave my leg muscles.

I guess someone that oversees the weight-lifting and if necessary helps lowering the weight etc...

what I also found out yesterday is don't jog 3km on a beach without warming up unless you're in dire need of a strained muscle trauma :)

to answer some of the questions xcver has it right its someone to help if you can't make it back up from say a squat or bench press.
if was doing a squat lift my norm for one rep is about 100kg and on the bench around 70kg.
I went in at about 77 kg on a squat 8 reps and kinda got stuck had to switch direction and tweaked a muscle in upper leg.
