Welcome to the Monday Night Fourball league. This league is designed to be fun and fast-paced, and hopefully will circumvent some of the problems of other leagues that we have been excited to join but later fizzle out.

What are the rules of the league?

The rules of the league are fairly simple.
1) First you must make a LRB team in the U division based on any team you like (see below). Then you must only keep 5 of the players on the team before submitting it to the league (PM celas to receive an invite or just submit your team using this page). Please note that the list of acceptable teams change each season so you should read further to see what is allowed. This season is only LRB teams.

***NEW RULE*** For the next season, each new team can only have half of the allowable positional players (round up). Thus Chaos Dwarves could have up 1 Big Guy, 1 Bull Centaur, 3 Chaos Dwarves, etc.

2) ALL games will be played on Monday night (with exceptions noted below) between the hours of 8pm-12am (Midnight) U. S. Central Standard Time(GMT-6). All coaches are expected to be in the chat around 8pm. Since games will only take approximately 30 minutes or less to play (with only 8 total players on the pitch these games move fast), it is possible and encouraged to play more than one game a night. Games may be played into Tuesday morning if both coaches agree. Your team will only be included in a season if you are in chat or have PMed me earlier to state you are running late. People who show up late will either not be included in the season/tourney or will have to forfiet games as determined by the MNF staff. This is not a penalty of any sort...rather it is to keep things moving.

Games should not be played outside of Monday Night during the aforementioned hours unless the tournament staff (celas, sentry) specifically ask you to play.

3) You may not use your MNF team outside of the league schedule. Meaning no games against teams that are not members of MNF even if your team is not involved in a tournament.

4) Coaches are expected to play multiple games per night (plan on being on from 8-12; you may be eliminated sooner than that however). It's not that hard when the games are so quick :P

Is there a chat channel for this group?

Yes, just type in /join #MNF into your IRC.

Do you have to be in the United States to play in this league?

No. You only have be able to play during the aforementioned times.

Do you use all the standard handicaps?

The following handicaps can be used during the regular season but NOT in the playoffs: Morley's Revenge, I'm the Greatest. If you get this result in a playoff game, please reload immediately. At any time Bribe the ref1 allows you to set up 5 players on one drive.

What style of play is the league and how do you score points?

The league will be run in a round robin format. At the end of the round robin there will be a knockout style tourney with (usually) all teams invited. Points will be given as follows:
Win = 10
Tie = 4
Loss = 0...do you really want me to give you something for losing? ;P
Each TD = 1
Each CAS = 2
Win by Forfiet = 11
Lose by Forfiet = 0

Do you allow star players wizards, etc.?

Wizards are NOT allowed and starting with season 3 and continuing with all subsequent seasons, you may not hire star players.

What if you have a player missing the next game due to an injury?

You can only have 5 players that can be fielded for the next game on your roster at any time. If you have a player that suffered a SI (missing next game) you will have to either 1)play the next game down a player or two (or three...yikes!) or 2)retire someone and buy a new one or 3) keep the player and freeboot a new player. Keep in mind that if you are down to only 2 or 3 players due to unfortunate deaths or retirement that you will most likely get between 2-3 handicap rolls, which may reduce the opponent to equal or less numbers or give you additional chances to even the odds.

Can undead or nurgles players add players to a roster if they kill someone?

You may only carry 5 and field 4 players on your roster that are active for the next/current game. Extra players must be discarded ASAP after a game. You may, however, choose to keep a player gained after a match if you retire a different player on your team.

Why will this league be any different than other leagues that fail?

First off, if you cannot commit to at least 5-6 30 minute or less games on a Monday night then you should not submit a team to me. Part of the success of this league will be due to picking a night like the "real" Monday Night Football and being able to plan on getting at least one game at that time as opposed to trying to PM back and forth with someone living in kraplackistan who sporadically checks his messages or can only play on Wednesday morning between 10:00 and 10:37. Plus the games will be so fast that multiple weeks can be played on the same night. Thus you will not have to wait until 3 months from now to finish a 7-game season and KO tourney. In the case of a fixed round robin tourney, coaches who fail to show up on Monday night without first PMing the opposing coach and commissioner will be given a warning and must contact the commissioner before the next Sunday or their team will be kicked from the league and a replacement will be found. Those coaches given a warning who do contact the appropriate persons and again fail to show up on a Monday night without contacting the opposing coach and commissioner ahead of time will be booted AND their parent's house will be toilet papered.

EDIT: you do not have to commit to every week of play. Some show up anywhere between 0-4 times a month. However, if you do show up to play, please plan on playing for at least 8-11 as you will affect other's chances of getting games and winning tourneys.

What was the ultimate goal of the league?

(EDIT: Show up have fun. Other than that....)

Is this a lame-o theme league?

Yes. Please name your team with some reference to a professional sports team.
