Deadlines for Season 26:
Round 1 December 14: Completed
Round 2 December 28
Round 3 January 11
Round 4 January 18
Round 5 January 25
Round 6 February 1
Round 7 February 8

Deadlines for current round are rigid. Communication with your opponeet and league officials is critical IF you know that you not going to be able to make the deadline for your scheduled match. All communication should be done through PM with all coaches involved/staff in the same PM thread. NWL likes communication. In fact we go giddy if you know you might have an issue and you tell your opponeet many days in advance and let the staff know what the hang up is and when the match is likely to get played. That way allowing an extension is not a big deal and we all move on. Last minute no shows and no communication will make round deadlines feel like a brick wall when you run into them.

Recognize the commitment! New coaches wishing to join the NWL should review the following and ask themselves if they can comply with these requirements.

1. Communication is important. We have 1 scheduled game every week for 8 to 9 weeks in a regular season, you need to either send a PM,
or reply to your opponents PM, to try and schedule your game.

2. Its not expected for you to be able to play every day of the week, but it is expected for you to at least be able to check the Fumbbl
site every 2 days or less to communicate with your opponent, if you get a PM, reply to the PM instead of reading it and forgetting it.

3. You will likely be playing people within 4 different timezones, so you should expect to possibly play earlier or later than you might
be comfortable with, which is likewise true of everyone in the league.

4. We expect every game in the season to be played, and conceding or forfeiting a game is highly frowned upon. If you don't think you
can commit to the whole season, then its better for you to not join the league.

5. We are a league comprised of adults, or at least children pretending to be adults. Some of us do curse, and this is not frowned upon, please
understand that cursing may not be directed at you but may be made in general, but please also try to refrain from cursing at your opponent until
you are sure they're the type of person who can handle it or understand its meant in a friendly manner.

The NWL league is broken into 3 divisions: Premier, Veteran, Fringe. The main goal of the league is to compete and win in the Premier division.

New coaches create their teams based on their draft picks and the results of the team draft. Each coach who is drafting a team chooses their
#1/#2/#3 picks from the general categories of Basher, Baller, Betweener. Or if they want a team from Other, they will automatically be granted
the choice of an Other team.

After the draft, you will be assigned the category as close to your #1 pick that still keeps the balance of the league mostly even, you can
then create a team of any race that falls into the category you are assigned.

Race categories
Bashers: Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact, Nurgle, Dwarf, Khemri, Orc
Ballers: Dark Elf, Elf, High Elf, Skaven, Wood Elf, Slann
Betweeners: Amazon, Human, Lizardmen, Necromantic, Norse, Undead
Other: Halflings, Goblins, Underworld, Ogre, Vampire

The Fringe Division will be split into smaller open round robin groups, which means that you can play against any coach in your Fringe group at any time. This is intended to help new coaches blend with existing coaches and develop the communication and comradery needed to schedule a day and time
to play your game. New coaches can even be added to the fringe division in the middle of the season, replacing any filler teams which are
added to pad out some extra room just in case.

The Premier and Veteran divisions use a preset schedule approach where you will have to play against your round 1 opponent before playing
against your round 2 opponent, and so on. Each round has a deadline you have to complete the game by, if no extension is requested, the
game will be forfeited.

Size of Divisions
Premier and Veteran divisions will have 8 coaches each, until the size of the league grows and demands more space. The Fringe division will have everyone else split into a variable number of groups.

Fringe Requirements
Fringe will be split into two half season groupings. The first grouping will split teams based on their TV into groups to play 4 to 5 games.
The second grouping will take half of the teams who scored the most points in the first grouping, and pit them against each other for the chance to be promoted to veteran. The other half of fringe teams will be pitted against each other
Even though fringe will be open round robin, it is expected for you to play all of your available opponents in the fringe division.

League Points

League points determine your rank in the division you are competing in. The top member of Premier wins the championship for the season,
the bottom three members of Premier will be demoted to the Veteran Division, while the top three members of Veteran will be promoted to
Premier, and the bottom three of Veteran will be demoted to Fringe. Likewise, the top three members of Fringe will be promoted to the Veteran Division.

Each win is 3 points, each tie is 1 point, each loss is 0 points.

For tie in points, use the following list of tiebreakers. Go down to the first tiebreaker where there is not a tie between the coaches.
#1 Highest TD differential (TD the coach scored in the season minus the TD scored against them in the season)
#2 Highest Casualty differential (Casualties inflicted minus casualties suffered)

Forfeits will default to zero points for each coach unless proof of fault is given to all three of these officers: xyon, cyric612, and RobRoyDuncan.

Proof of fault is when you include an officer into the PM conversation you were having with your opponent in order to try and schedule your game.

When proof of fault is given, and a coach is deemed to be 'at fault' for the game not being played by either not showing up at the scheduled time,
not attempting to schedule the match at all, or other reasons, then they will receive zero points for the game, while their opponent will receive
the full 3 points for a win.

If any coach 'drops out' of a division with scheduled matches, then all of their opponents will have the results overturned to wins in order to
maintain consistency.

If a coach wishes to take a break from the league, when they return, they may bring back their most recent NWL team so long as they did not play any
games outside of the NWL with that team. Or they may choose to draft a new team as usual.

When the season ends, promotions, and demotions are handed out, and each coach chooses whether they will keep their current team, or draft a new team
along side new coaches who will draft their teams. Coaches who want to keep their current team may play one game in order to 'reset' any injuries
on their players which would keep them from playing in the first game of the next season, this 'game' is merely where you place your players on the pitch
and click on the 'end turn' button over and over in order to end the game without injury. If a rock happens then that is beyond control and will be
considered a 'training accident', hopefully your apothecary will work!
