Group managers: TopG
7s league starting in October 2023 with a round robin format. Two games per calendar month, and any unplayed games at midnight on the last day of the month will be forfeited with neither team getting any league points, spp, winnings etc. Coaches are responsible for getting their games in on time and TopG will not be involved in this other than to send occasional messages to the group to prompt.
The season will consist of two phases. Phase 1: every team plays every other team once and the top two qualify for the end of season playoffs. The league is then reset and all scores set to 0 for Phase 2, when every team plays every other team for a second time. Again, the winner and runner up qualify for the playoffs.
Phase 1 Winner: von_szarza (Boogie Shuffle) - 23 points
Phase 1 Runner up: Stovebolt (Bangaverage) - 19 points
Phase 1 3rd place: Phil78 (Clan Mac Seven) - 18 points
If a team qualifies through both phases then their second spot goes to the best 3rd placed team. If two teams qualify through both phases then the other third placed team also qualifies.
The four teams in the playoffs will be ranked in terms of the total league points gained across both seasons. The team with the most points plays the team with the fewest points in the semis; the other two plsy each other and the winners playoff in the final.
FUMBBL 7s plays exactly the same as regular FUMBBL with a few small changes:
- you can only have max 7 players on the pitch at any one time
- max squad size of 11
- 600k treasury to build squad
- some of the newer rosters (Norse, Amazons, Vampires(!)) have not been updated since the recent releases, but otherwise rosters are accurate for BB2020
- you can only have maximum one player in each wide zone
- there is NO OBLIGATION to set up any players on the LOS
- Rerolls cost double
- Leader is not available as a skill
Otherwise, it uses the same pitch, it's 8 turns and uses the same inducements, kick off, weather table etc as regular BB. You can still have the same number of positionals in a team (e.g. Orcs can still have 4 Blitzers)
Games shouldn't last longer than 45 minutes!
