#9 Yax – Smashed Collar Bone (-ST)
#11 Nun Chak – Dead (RIP)
#12 Kan Balam – Broken Ribs (MNG)
Equipped with a pair of talented Skinks in Nun Chak and Balaam Nehn, the Uaxactun Jaguars approached the game with the intention of playing a attack orientated game, taking the Elves on at their own game. Instead the game turned into a grim defensive struggle which the Jaguars were lucky to escape with a draw.

Grand Design received the initial kickoff and neatly switched play from the left wing to the right to score with Lineman Laranis.

From the ensuing kickoff K'inich Janaab Pakal knocked Lineman Ranfal out of the game, only for that advantage to be wasted when Balaam Nehn fumbled the ball and was promptly flattened by Dragon Warrior Elbereth, ending up with a broken jaw. Elbereth gathered the ball but just failed to get across the line before the whistle blew to end the half.

In the second half the Jaguars started with the ball and despite Yax breaking his collar bone, Nun Chak scored following a cunning block by Yahaw Te and good work by the brutal Ciak K'ak.

A superb blitz by Ciak K'ak brought instant pressure of Phoenix Warrior Joseph. Despite this he evaded two potential tacklers and launched a pin point throw downfield to Lineman Sentalis. A good blitz by Team Captain Yax Moch Xok dislodged the ball and Nun Chak dived in to secure the ball. Seeing a chance to win the game at the death he tried to launch the ball towards Kan Balam, only to fumble it in the act of passing. He regathered the ball but before he could try again he was killed by a vicious block from Sentalis. Elbereth calmly picked up the loose ball but with the seconds ticking down he was unable to hit his fellow Dragon Warrior Amaranth in the end zone, leading to the game ending in a draw.

Player of the Game: K'inich Janaab Pakal - heavily involved in the thick of the melee and even carried the ball for a short distance

It was a good game. Both coaches wanted a high flying high scoring matchup but it turned out to be quite the opposite. It looked like a chaos team vs a dwarf team out there today. Grinding it out on both ends of the field. There were almost 2 deaths on the Uaxactun Jaguars side but one skink was able to be brought back to life. Unfortunately for Nun Chak, a skink with elf-like agility, he will never walk on the field again. Sentalis devastated him with an elbow to the back of his cranium as team Grand Design tried to go for the winning Touchdown. Nun Chak was at the wrong place with the ball at the wrong time. Elbereth picked up the ball from the skink's lifeless hands and tried to throw it to Amaranth who was wide open in the end zone but the ball was so slick with blood that it slipped from his hands and the game ended in a tie. Good match to Coach DomM, I'm sure these two coaches will meet again in the future.
