“After some time of inactivity the Silver Guardians once more took to the bloodbowl pitch against some dark elves. Having 12 players at his disposal, among which a move 10 sprint catcher, the coach decided to try a new tactic and decided to kick rather than receive in the first half. The first turn saw an early ko on a blodge lino who wouldn’t come back for the rest of the game and a blitz/gang foul on Kivan, one of only two tacklers and kicker of the team, resulted in a badly hurt. Against mass blodge-sidestep, some of which with even guard on top of that, things didn’t look good even before the Guardians had even moved a single player…

During the first few turns I suffered two snakes, so I was pretty much unable to do anything. Nuffle didn’t spare the opposing dark elves neither though. A critical snake-eyes on a pass resulted in an easy steal and a 0-1 lead at half time. With the Silver Guardians receiving things suddenly looked a lot better. But a few turns later Nuffle woke up from his doze and gave me a double skulls on a wardancer blitz. With the reroll gone, the 2+ dodge for the 0-2 lead obviously failed resulting not only in subsequent loss of the ball, but in three surfs in one turn (one of which was a sidestepper) and a dead move 10 catcher as well. You gotta love that crowd. Obviously 1-1 was the logic result of this mess.

With 3 turns left and the Guardians again receiving, the win was still within reach, but with few players left, taking some risks were necessary. Nuffle decided to let an opposing dark elf (in two tackle zones) intercept the pass for the score. Result: 2-1, but for the wrong team…

4 snake-eyes and 1 doubles skulls, difficult to win with those dice…

Oh yeah, of course I lost a fan factor as well. Just one of those games…
