“A great game but we don't know how we lost this. A strong first half did start with a goblin having his head fractured by a skink but Big King responded by badly hurting a Raptor with his nasty claws. We soon crowded the ball and eventually an under pressure skink fumbled the ball to the crowd, which was thrown around until it was near Devil Keepa in the middle of their half. He didn't need a second invitation to grab the ball. Did need a helping push over the line though as a Squig left the field in lust. 1-0. Meanwhile the skink apo saved the rip of the match (boo!).
On the return drive the skinks got themselves caught up and the crowd threw the ball out of reach.
Second half we lined up to receive with players up and in total cockiness. But suddenly the squigs being ridden were getting very agitated and wanting blood! This distraction seemed to foul up the rest of the team. Their raptor did incredible work dodging and took down a squigrider so eventually a skink scored.
Next drive we still looked ok but the skinks moved like lightning and blitzed us. Big King did get the ball but was again taken down by the raptor and the skinks scored another quick steal! The raptor was a wonder.
Then we setup yet again that half. The squigs finally showed their menace and got three skinks out to clear the way. Devil Rida then just needed to dash over the line. But last turn it was the gfi classic to deny the draw, the cruelest way to go. Gfi fail, reroll, gfi in endzone, fail. D'oh! The squig and rider lost their focus at the end and the Skinks get their first win. Poor squigs!
Though the gobbos say they were again glad not to be eaten.”
