“A draw is a win - very happy with how this match went.
First couple of turns were not looking good. My Black Orc's 'Mighty Blow' was a weak fish slap to the face of any Norse, and against a perfect defence things weren't looking good. But with some good dice on my side and taking a lot more care than usual on positioning, I managed to inch forwards, and somehow get the ball up to Fru T Bunn, who avoided getting knocked down and battered his way to an 8th turn touchdown - a perfect result, without any stalling.
(Credit where credit's due: the ref let all three of my fouls through and sent off Asmund Faason for nothing worse than a stun on the 8th turn of the first half. Or maybe I can credit this to the incredibly strong glass of gin my wife brought me.)
Second half I tried to slow him down in the hope of a draw, but he went through me in four turns. Achingly, I was within range of a second score by the end of the 7th turn, if I'd read the range properly and done two GFIs. But I didn't, and he sacked Terry, so that was a moot point.
Still, only one serious injury, and Tasha is sure to recover soon. What a nice way to finish my 101th BBT game.”
“Well played Cushtie! I find Orcs a nasty opponent for Norse especially when they press, which is exactly what the Giants did from the off. The Exiles struggled to defend down on numbers but very nearly stopped the score on T8 first half; Runner Sigurd failed to blitz the isolated ball carrier down, then despite blodge and sidestep against him Fru T Bunn managed to get the Pow in return to run home. The Exiles equalised halfway through the 2nd half and then tried to press for a winner, but with numbers, black orcs and guard the orc cage proved just too strong. Good game!”
