“We faced Lizardmen here and started off with a long kick that was retrieved. It soon looked like it would be a good blocking battle but superstar Duke Death was soon KO'd. After a zombie was cas'd it looked tough but speedy Faceless Hunter was given a chance to wrestle down their ball carrier which he took. Their first retrieval attempt was failed too. But despite covering the ball we risked Yggardis trying a pick under pressure. It was then fumbled behind the skink line and this time they got it back and managed to get a well timed score by half-time. Whippet did have a blitz chance but could only push (rerolls were already squandered).

Second half we were looking for an opening. The Mountain was beating down on the Krox but couldn't remove it. But he then seriously concussed a skink and Duke Death badly hurt a Saurus. That gave Kraklow space to relieve the pressure and rush through the middle. He did have to avoid a break tackling Saurus blitz effort before he made his way for the TD.

The Lizards had 3 turn left to come back. Crucially a successful pickup and handoff got the ball way up the pitch. Then 2 casualties and a KO of Duke Death in a couple of rounds of hits got the Lizards the space they needed. We got bodies in but couldn't strike back hard, and the skink carrier races over the line for the win. The Krox had absorbed and stood firm to some hits from Mumm-ra and support. A disappointing end for our side, but a well fought match.
