“Hi there. No need to apologise or explain. As I said in the quoted text, I expect we experienced a language barrier issue or something, as I took it that you were saying the equivalent of ‘I will concede now’, I ended my turn and then you clarified you meant ‘I am / am not allowed to concede now’. Twice.
As mentioned - I don’t know if that’s allowed if you were doing it on purpose, but I’m more than happy to accept you weren’t. No problems.
I was super distracted by real life at the end there, hence getting to 4 mins. You are allowed to time me out (although I had moved everything I was going to move). So while I don’t like that, I cannot complain.
“<Purplegoo> thanks for the game. Just for reference, I'm not sure the whole 'will I or will I not concede now' thing is allowed. Maybe it is, maybe it was a language barrier thing... Don't know. I'm assuming it was the latter. Anyway. Have a nice rest of evening.
<Purplegoo> very odd ending there.
<Purplegoo> night!
I believe that in the chat one can express his thoughts freely. If after the first round because of a misclick or a fast move you lose the starplayer and you lose the drive you say "ok I concede" then clearly you don't concede but it is not that if one in the chat writes something it has a value of a contract written in blood.
"When you're 'hot', you can say things, then you think about them and you don't do them (for example, I have never conceded, never will... but there are times when you feel like flushing the dice down the toilet). Let's say cultural ok? I am italian and sometime i become emotional. But i dont offend . I say in bad situation a few free words so to unload myself
Unless you offend your opponent the chat is a way to express your feelings. Some like many very expert players (serial mono-activators who only play their 3 super-skilled teams, is not your case naturally) complain against the games & worksop developers saying the rules suck. Others have a laugh. Others start whining and cry whenever a double skull or snake happen (forgetting all the massive luck they had before)
Because I know statistics I never complain about the dice, I never cry about bad luck but i become angry for misclicks because is my fault and nothing related with the dice. Is a bad mechanics which i am the only responsible. full stop
And as long as I don't offend anyone I think I'm allowed to talkg loudly to myself in the chat room and saying 'OK let's get it over with'.. And whatever s-o says in the chat this is not a contract which bind you to comply with decision . If you say "ok let's stop playing" this is not a commitment. consider it a shot made out of frustration
Having said that despite the game being a disaster for me I didn't concede I fought it to the end and I'm glad I only lost 1-0 vs a player with a win rate almost double mine and playing with an 80K TV gap practically from the start. And I am proud of this. Whatever people on this site may think about me
have a good evening my dear
PS
I usually NEVER call timeout the first time my opponent causes it.
In this game I called it instead. There is always a first time I hope it is the last time because I hate coaches who call timeout without even warning (the more if they are expert coaches play vs not expert. I am not a Legend or Megastar btw).
When you spend an hour of your time in a game tainted by a mistake you get nervous and sometimes you do things that are not exactly gentlemanly. For this, objectively, I apologise and I ask sorry to you. ”
