“The flow of the game could be captured in one moment. Outnumbering the skellies by 1 player on the field early in the match, I instruct my wizard to go for the kill and unleash a fireball on 4 skellies including the one holding the ball. All four dodge the blast.....and it was all downhill from there.

Ok, no. It was fun. =)
Insane blocking dice seem to be part of the bar scene. This team - all skeletons - is just absolutely brutal. Nothing but BH - which is good. This is a tourney and I want everyone nice and fresh after I play them because I don't have to worry about them for a while and no need to make them easy wins for anyone else.
As it was, celas was playing 4-6 men down for most of the game, so there was little he could do. Nonetheless, he was right there trying. Always the sign of a true player, if you ask me.
