“A fun game against a fun coach.

I must say I had most of the luck this game. Firstly, the handicaps were pretty ordinary:

Bad Press
Morley's
Duh Where Am I? (failed 1 or 2 all match)
and two other minor ones I can't remember

Then all our nigglers showed up, and mine were three Legends, two with Str 4 Mighty Blow Tackle.

Then on my first turn, I badly hurt his only Mighty Blow player (Fischerking) leaving him with two Tacklers for the match.

We exchange scores and I start to thin his numbers, causing two more Badly Hurts. Near the end of the first half, I am down 1-2 and it looks likeI will need to try a difficult score after I rolled a snake-eyes relatively early on a dodge I didn't have to take really (it just gave me one extra MA) and KOd my player.

However, my opponent helps me unknowingly with one of his blocks that results in a push and lets me set up a chain pushback TD with a player who was originally out of reach of the end zone (MA5 and 8 away). A 2+ throw, catch, and two GFI later I manage to get to a 2-2 half time score.

Second half I start in offence and we continue to exchange TDs. Along the way however, I cause a niggling on a good Lineman (AG5) and the apothecary failed which was some rotten luck for my opponent.

At 4-3 up, I get a blitz and it is pretty much all over when my opponent is unlucky and fails to pick up the ball on 3+ with RR after I flood his half. I recover the ball and take a 5-3 lead with only a few turns left in the game and this was match winner.

A very fun time against Gary_Gygax. Some rotten luck for him meant he left the game with a maimed player and a dead double niggler (the latter not too bad a loss). It was always going to be hard to stop a good Pro Elf team in the hands of a skilled coach without resorting to fouling and it was the Blitz that gave me the advantage. Without the blitz, it would have been a well deserved and fun draw.

Anyways, good luck with the recovery dude and I look forward to a rematch.”
