Finaly, an era is over! RIP Valdrek Bloodgaze. Killed by a rock of all things!

Is he a Thrower or a Blitzer??? Whatever he wants to be on the day! Valdrek is a hybrid player, a good (AG5) but not exceptional thrower, and an excellent blitzer (Str4 Block, Mighty Blow, Tackle, Sidestep). Valdrek cannot compete with the great passers in the game, and lacks the pace of the typical Blitzer. So Valdrek plays his own game. A brutal enforcer and running back when required, and a capable short passer when his agility is required to set up a score.
Over a long career, Valdrek was fouled many times, and one time late in his career (around the 350 spp mark) the apothecary messed up and Valdrek was left with -1 AG (to go with his Niggle from aging at 176 spp).

Funnily enough Valdrek is not anywhere near the top 10 amongst DE Throwers in the passing category! Valdrek is the only DE Thrower to have 5 or more Interceptsions, 10 or more TDs, and only 1 of 2 to have 10 or more casualties. Truly a freak of nature.
On <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=761214">19 May 2005</a>, Valdrek received the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=3165">Recordopedia Spluttanica</a> title of best trippler when he reached a career total of 38 completions, 32 touchdowns and 40 casualties. Valdrek reached this milestone in the Falcon's 99th game, which was against noble coach <a href="http://fumbbl.com/~Bogh"> Bogh</a> and his Amazon team <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=150335">The Westend Girls</a>. Valdrek lifted the bar in this category into a new dimension as he almost reached a triple 70 before his demise (3 TD short).
On <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=841339">28 July 2005</a>, Valdrek received achieved a Perfect Thundercall (aka Perfect Larson) against the Elf team <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=174468">Nice Trax</a>. Valdrek made 2 completions, scored 2 TDs, made 1 interception, inflicted 1 casualty and was awared the MVP award for a well earned 17 SPP clinic.
On <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=913118">30 September 2005</a>, Valdrek again showed his greatness by achieving a Thundercall (aka Larson) against the Dark Elf team the <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=197442">Defenders of the Naggaroth</a>. Valdrek made one completion, scored 2 TDs, intercepted 1 pass and inflicted one casualty in a stellar display as he led his team to a 5-0 victory.
Valdrek is the only player on FUMBBL to have ever achieved both a Perfect Thundercall and a Thundercall. Valdrek topped this by achieving a second Thundercall on 13 April 2006.

Both a sad and glorious day for the Blood Falcons and head coach Malthor. Valdrek was both a wonder and a millstone. When he was on song, he was one of the best players to ever take the pitch, especially when he only had the niggle and was AG5.
On the other hand, he was worth 108 TR at the time of his death, and Virus, I Am the Greatest, and also just the niggling injury (when there was no Virus) made many games a lottery.
He will be sorely missed, but also celebrated as part of the Blood Falcons history. He has given me over a year of great fun and all good things come at an end.
