READ THE AWAY REPORT FIRST, THIS IS A FOLLOW UP >>>

Outnumbered and starting with only 9 players, Coach Chainsaw told his players that the best tactic was to even up the teams by, "Smashing and bashing." It oh so nearly worked.

Despite disabling enough Rotters to make the play more even, Epidemy took advantage of their initial numerical superiority to score an early touchdown.

In the return play, the 'Saws could not get past the tentacles of the mountain of filth who was a pivotal player in the Epidemy defence. But for his ungainly hold on several players throughout the game, the Chainsaw would have drawn or maybe even won this match.

In the second half, Epidemy managed to steal the ball and score a second before casualties took their toll. However there was only enough time left in the game for a consolation score by the 'Saws.

Proceedings were complimented - or spoilt, according to a human commentator who was later assaulted and hospitalised by a gang of orc youths - by some off-the-field fracas that escalated into a battle outside of the stadium between one of Plaguelord Vorrsk's warbands and an orc tribe.

Apparently an argument had broken out in the elderly section of the crowd. Yes, it's true, the 'Saws have an elderly section in the stands as we respect the right of our elders to witness the bloodshed up close. Anyway, I digress...

An elderly orc shaman had objected to a senior Plaguelord Vorrsk's follower calling the shaman's oak mounted moonstone a "walking stick". The elderly follower, who had forgotten his name, was complaining that Shaman Uruk had leant on his foot with the moonstick. Due to their elderly stutters, slurs, and general slowness of mind and speech, the argument took at least 2 hours before both were found in the stands by younger associates who had waited for the stadium to empty before fetching their seniors.

Even then things had not escalated until, in a last gasp attempt to get the last word, the anonymous old follower splurted out a paltry insult, spraying people with saliva in the process. The spit hit the eye of the young orc disciple who subsequently punched the elderly follower in the mouth. As the Shaman Uruk's tribe started to gather in amusement, a tear away rotter kicked the Shaman Uruk's moonstick and broke it. Incensed, the tribe set off to find a group of rotters to battle with. Fortunately a warband had stayed behind, waiting with rocks to pelt the losing away team. The ensuing battle was enough of a distraction to allow Epidemy to escape unscathed.

At the end of the battle, the Shaman Uruk and the elderly follower were found arguing over who had won the match as neither of them could remember the precise scoreline.

Anyway, it's all set up nicely for a rematch in the future.

#5 Sickbreath – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#5 Sickbreath – Smashed Knee (NI)
#9 Rancid – Dead (RIP)
Bloody and violent match, that was!!!!

To show my dudes how basher teams do work, I arranged a match with a battered team who sported a Troll, seven orcs and a goblin.

Fair game, I thought.

Wrong.

The match started with a pitch invasion as some Orc fans and Nurgle's followers decided to rumble a little after someone (don't really remember who) called some other a sniveling coward.

That was very brief as Plaguelord Vorrsk (yes... he shoved up at this match, too) and an orc shaman called harshly back the respective retinues. A couple players from both sides got swinged at and weren't exactly in shape when the drive started but that was all..

The worse was still to come.

The first drive was a barrage of blocks from both sides. Beastman Blackleg exploited a gap in the defence and a fumbled pass from the orcs, snatched the football and scored. The fans cheered until the dust settled and they saw the lifeless body of beastman Rancid, nearly broken in half by a savage block from a black orc.

The following drive was something of a nightmare. The orcs seemed unstoppable, and after a few turns two beasmen were out for good and another two were KO.

That was when Xluurgh'th saved the day. Seeing so many of its playmates being mistreated seemingly annoyed the great beast of Nurgle, and the orc blitzer carrying the ball was held firmly in place by its slimy tentacles and then bashed to the ground.

The battle was hard and no quarter was given... at one time the Troll itself catched a scatter of the football!!! I don't know how we kept them from scoring... fact is, we did it.

Second half, first drive, we received. As usual we caged, and as usual the beast didn't notice that the drive was started and happily slobbered on the spot.

The orcs closed on us and we tried to quickly run the ball out of their clutches. They were almost on us when Beasman Rottenbelly bited hard the back of the Beast Xluurgh'th to try and awaken it.

It worked real good (and by the way that move earned Rottenbelly the MVP after the match). The Beast came to its senses with a thunderous bellow and howling in pain, smashed itself on the enemy troll sending it KO.

That really saved the day. The orcs actually managed to steal the ball but a wrong pass saw it back in the hands of trusty beastman Foulsmell, and so we did our second touchdown.

As the last drive started, my guys were fatigued nearly to death... and another of them went badly hurt. So I signaled them not to worry much about the opponent since the best the orcs could have done would have been a touchdown to save their face and go 2-1. Which they did.

So we won this one. Hard win, and now I have to commend the opponent's coach for a very tough fight (one that made me grumble for nearly all the match... and that does not happen often!!!). Your boys have guts, dude...

By the way.. did you hear too the rumours about a very bloody battle between Plaguelord Vorrsk's warband and an orc tribe led by a powerful shaman, near the stadium, a few hours after the end of the match?
