Originally a team based of corsairs from the subtropical Cathay island of Sany'a, the Cranes had little success in their first ten seasons. Nicknamed the Hainan Chickens and held with contempt by those around them, the Cranes took the only route that seemed sensible - to bribe necromancers and steal an army of terracotta soldiers from the crypts of the Emperor to the north of Sany'a. These reanimated warriors lacked physical grace, but their strength and violence more than made up for these failings. Travelling to compete in the fabled Black Box to test their mettle, it remains to be seen if they can be triumphant, or just have feet of clay.

Due to an apparent mix-up, the four biggest team players may actually be the official team mascots, and it's unclear whether this makes the whole team illegal under NAF sanctioning rules, or if mascots may be part of the regular team roster. They're not talking, nobody wants to argue...

Could they possible be a homage to the Hainan Boying? Probably not
