Silver Guardians

Long ago the vast forests of Athel Loren were safe and secure. The wood elves lived in harmony and without worry. Centuries of raids, incursions and even full scale invasions into their forests forced the wood elves to take up arms and fiercely defend their homelands. Hence the Silver Guard was formed, an elite force of elven soldiers, determined to withstand any trespassing outsiders defiling the sacred groves of Athel Loren.

After pursuing the defeated remains of yet another human warband trying to colonize the woods, back to their Empire origins, the wood elves stumbled upon a most peculiar event. In one of the towns bordering the forest a ball game was played similar to the elves' own "Lanael i Cinaeir" ceremony, in which two opposing teams try to obtain the gods' favour by tossing a deer bladder in a ring of branches and leaves. After having reported this phenomenon to their elders back home in Athel Loren, it was decided that the wood elves would send their own team into the wide world to defend their interests and acquire the gods' blessings. And so it happened that this rather bizarre wood elf gang was called after the original discoverers of the game... the Silver Guardians!
