| HANGING OUT WITH THE HUNG ( A SOCIAL GUIDE) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rather than spouting the usual platitudes, we give you a social guide to the Hung. This may be of genuine practical value, should you find yourself invited to one of their frequent parties. The Tong are rather taciturn, speak Hung with an atrocious accent, and have been known to snap the hand off grown men. Engaging them in small talk is not advised. Invitations to arm wrestle should be politely declined. The Marauders will drone on endlessly about the size of their Tackle, so are best avoided. Be prepared with some ingenious excuse, should you find yourself trapped in the kitchen with one. The Linemen are deemed socially inferior, even by themselves, so any social niceties directed at them will immediately mark you as the same (and could endanger your life). Scorn, derision and hauteur are the order of the day. The Darksouls are the life and soul of the party (a fact little known outside Hung polite society). Mister Chuckles was renowned for his musical turns at the team's regular Tuesday evening soirees. His parodic version of the team song was rather special (Smiley was ever happy to translate). Though it has to be said, the famous parties have lost something of their social cachet following the sad demise of the late Mister Chuckles. His son, Master Chuckles, while he "tries hard", can only do a pale imitation of the team song, and as for Smiley, we now understand why he was tasked with translating the song, rather than singing it. But anyway, surprising as it may seem, for those seeking a friend among the Hung, Darksouls are the way to go. They are almost human, after all! |
