Interesting opportunities bring graft and corruption, bribery in high (and low) places, money-laundering, skullduggery, nepotism, decadence, degeneracy and moral turpitude, along with all conceivable forms of criminal enterprise. And so it is, dearest and gentlest of readers, that in our day the once noble ranks of the Blood Bowl playing aristocracy have been filled with vermin, cut-purses, cut-throats, riffraff, scoundrels, impostors, snobs, nouveaux riches, rascals, chancers - indeed every denizen of the worst hives of scum and villainy that this blasted earth has vomited forth. For example: "Warden of the Cinque Stadia" in lieu of "His Supreme Excellency Warden of the Cinque Stadia, Marquis of Middenland, Keeper of Nuffle's Sacred Memorabilia (disputed), Bailiff of the Howling Hills Hundreds, Grand Knight of the Order of the Armoured Codpiece, Third Cup-Bearer to His Imperial Majesty, &c., &c.".] [Addendum: Being well aware that our dearest and gentlest of readers are amused and disturbed in equal measure at the sudden rise to prominence of Bar Steward (Imperial Retainer Lineman), we wish, without casting aspersions, to proffer a plausible explanation. A reliable source informs us that the "birth name" of the recently "promoted" Bar Steward is *cough* Cory Grottysnake. He would not be the first of his ilk to try to so conceal his base, criminal and treacherous origins.
