Bloodfin's Grief

The world is not a tolerant place. It is not a place that accepts difference. It is not a place where rulers have achieved power through alliance, but through strength. Those that follow Stromfel are persecuted for their beliefs, considered bent on destruction for no reason. This is not so.

The few that place their trust in Stromfel understand him as the outsiders do not. The shark is an apex predator. It is cold blooded, merciless and cruel. It is feared and hated in equal measure. And yet the ocean without the apex predator is a dead one. There is no limit on life, no regulator of population and so resources dwindle. The shark is necessary. So is the cult of Stromfel, for the waters of the Sea of Claws are full of traders in a lucrative business, who use the ocean for their benefit alone. They take no heed of the fisherman or the native. And as such, neither do the Stromfels. However, many a merchant ship has been found uncrewed, lifeless, drenched in blood from the pirates of the area. These pirates survive off their ruthlessness as the shark does, but they are needed. The pirate is not a steward but a gardener; sometimes, the oceans need pruning.

The pirate Bloodfin was one of the wisest sailors of the seas. He was rich, powerful, dangerous. Yet for the Stromfels, he was noble. He was the guardian of the waters and protected the sanctity of the cults residence. He lived in a time when the navies were powerful and the Stromfels near extinction. He died at the hands of a mercenary, and his red tears marked the land of the deck he stood on. He entreated the Stromfels to find a new way of life to keep their oceans their own. His last words are this crew's motto; 'Hold were you can, give where you must. Let necessity guide you to new lands.'

So his crew has found a new way of life. They aim to succeed for their god, their patron and their way of life. The ship set sail to new lands, and joined the BCL. The crew of Bloodfin's Grief are here, and woe betide those that defy them.
