| In commemoration of my <a href="http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=91947">Scions of Shannara</a> team, my longest running, arguably most successful, and definitely favorite team ever fielded. That team was based around a series of books by one of my favorite authors, Terry Brooks. This team shall instead draw inspiration from my all-time favorite individual book, "Arena" by William R. Forstchen. May the lessons learned from the original Scions help carry this team to a better record and even longer history! Once there were five great houses of magic--Orange, Gray, Purple, Brown and Turquoise--whose fighter/mages were available for hire to the highest bidder. Rivals always, but never more fiercely than during the annual Festival, where the houses directly pitted their best against each other in the arena, vying to prove which house was supreme. Jealousy begets treachery, and one Festival the other four houses united to annihilate Turquoise, scattering the few survivors to the winds and splitting the spoils amongst themselves. Twenty years later, a rogue fighter/mage named Garth, not belonging to any of the houses yet possessing skills befitting a House Master, has appeared at Festival, easily besting the champions of each. Who is this warrior? Where did he learn such awesome abilities and spells? And in the back of each traitor's mind...what, if any, is his connection to the fallen Turquoise? ******************************************************************************* As a special interest note, we're going to start tracking fluctuations in fan factor as the team progresses.
