The Altdorf Champions are a legendary human team from the forgotten years. In 2368 after the rediscovery of Blood Bowl, a collection of early human stars decided to form a team that could tour round and spread the word of the newly popular sport. After a few months organisation one of the greatest line-ups ever seen on a Blood Bowl team was formed, the Altdorf Champions. The aim of the team was to demonstrate as well as dazzle wherever they went. At first the Champions were extremely successful and stunned and entertained the vast crowds that came out to see them. They truly were the brightest stars in the game. However soon things started to go off the rails. In a now infamous match against the Chaos All-Stars, the Altdorf Champions not only lost for the first time, they suffered the ignominy of having two of their stars killed on the pitch. They game ended in a riot, as crazed fans were either delighted or outraged by the eventual slaughter of the Champions. A new standard had been set. The Champions could no longer turn up and dominate other teams with their stars. After this humiltating loss the Champions played on a couple of games but they were uninspiring now that their myth had been broken. Also these games were plagued with accusations of bribery and match fixing. The game had moved on and the Champions were left behind... The Altdorf Champions were disbanded and dissolved in pitiful disgrace. Time passed... After years of Blood Bowl action, the game had moved on in leaps and bounds. Teams were now more skillful, more powerful and more intelligent than ever before. It was now in 2505 that the Great Grandson of Altdorf Champion original Johnny Atra decided that the time had come for the return of the Champions. However this time they would play a different game. They would no longer be pushed around and mangled into the ground. They would play not just to entertain but to win! They would return to show their true prowess and honour the name of that truely great team of the past The Altdorf Champions |
