Plight of the Sulaco II
Retired [R] Human

A group of Marines and civilians, on their way to LV-476 to investigate the disappearance of a colony, are forced to crash land on an unknown planet.

They quickly find themselves surrounded by howling nightmares out for blood! They lay into the monstrosities with their high-tech firepower and drive the brutal natives off. Having spotted what appears to be a settlement on their way in, they make for the nearest excuse for civilization. Numerous additional encounters deplete their ammo supply...these green skinned beasts seem numberless!

They make the walls of a heavily defended human settlement just as the last of their ammo is spent. Many of their number are sorely wounded, and the Android Bishop needs repair. Fortunately they were able to bring some spare parts. In time he will be made functional.

Now within the village they look at one another in shock. Stranded on a backass primitive world, their ammunition gone, what will they do? That's when Sgt. Apone (injured in the trek to the village) notices cheering. The marines investigate and find the locals enmeshed in a game of...rugby?!, football?!, group madness?!

With no other options available to them, they decide to give it a go, and the team Plight of the Sulaco (II) is born!

"Then why don't you put her in charge?" - Hudson

Game 1: A tough match vs. some damn Norsemen saw the Sulaco crew receive 1 bh and 3 rip (how's that for shitty luck?). Heavy weapons specialist Vasquez and shuttle co-pilot Spunkmeyer took fatal injuries. Damn it! Ripley proved her mettle netting the team's only cas and the MVP.

Game 2: Pvt. Wierzbowski recovers from injuries received during the crash landing and joins the team. A group of balling greenskins shows up in town wanting a match and the Sulaco crew give it a go. They lose but suffer no major injuries and Sgt. Apone is able to join the team after the match, bringing the team back up to 11 players. All in all, a successful outing!

Game 3: Another Norse team (this one badly beat up and with few fans in tow) arrives for a match. The Sulacans have no trouble with the badly outnumbered Norse and take a decisive 2-0 victory. Winnings are meager however so the cash is saved. Drake shows his natural aptitude for Bloodbowl and becomes the teams spp leader netting one of FOUR skill rolls following this game.

Game 4: Some odd people with haughty attitudes and long ears came into town looking for a match. The Sulacans gave the 'high elves' (who do they think they are?) a go and gave them a good ass-whupping. Best outing yet for the stranded marines with 3 TDs and no casualties suffered. Corporal Dietrich even managed to join the team. Apparently there's some 'tour' upcoming that might provide them with the cash to finally repair Bishop.

Game 5, 125Tour Rd 1: A match vs. disgusting undead things, the overall match went well with the Sulacans scoring in the first half and then successfully defending the endzone. Unforturnately a late 1d blitz where the rr was used on a gfi saw Ripley slain by a ghoul. Not. Good. Prospects for the rest of the tour look poor indeed.

Game 6, 125Tour Rd 2: Some sultry but surprisingly buff women cruise into town for the second Tour match. Being equal opportunity Marines, the Sulacans don't take them lightly but wind up getting rolled 2-1 (the game was nowhere near as close as the score indicates). No perm injuries but still 10K short of funding the mission back to the crash site to repair Bishop. Damn!

Game 7: En route to the crash site the team stops off at a wayward camp to play a match vs. some very unsavory characters. Although the Sulacans handle the 'Chaos' team handily 3-0, Cpl. Dietrich suffers a broken ankle and Drake gets killed by a warrior with massive claws. On the bright side, the winnings allow the team to recover and repair Bishop. Although the Marines are not able to restore him to his prime performance his presence is sure to be appreciated going forward.

Game 8: A rival human team challenges the Sulancans to a match. They deliver a severe beatdown, winning 3-1 and killing 3 enemy players. Burke trips in the post match celebration and gives himself a gimp. The coach will have to retire him soon. A local by the name of Schlaffasson is hired to provide a fourth blitzer.

Game 9: A group of short, angry, heavily armored men acost the Sulacans on their way back to the village and demand a game despite many of their players feeling rather ill. A hard fought game ensues, but the Sulancans emerge victorious 1-0. Burke's injury forces him to retire, but his coaching will be appreciated (and the rest of the team never liked him anyway).

Game 15: A tough match vs. some viking warriors. Although the Sulacans won it handily 3-0, the game saw original members Frost and Dietrich both go down to niggling injuries. It also saw their apo get canned, as his ineffectual work on Frost should've been able to patch him up without permanent damage.

Game 27: Another group of Norse rolled into the Village and the Sulacans gave it a go. The Norse put a world of hurt on the team. Their Yeti BH Lt. Gorman early, Cpl. Hicks was SI'd a few turns later, and Bishop was 'killed' (and killed again by the local apo who had no idea how to repair an android). Despite the heavy damage, the team pulled off some amazing plays and brought home the 2-1 win. The surviving Sulacans have decided to quit playing Norse as they seem to cause a LOT of damage.

Game 30: A newly aquired team manager lines another 'Orc' team up for a match. The game looks to be in hand but some seriously poor play by the lads blows what should've been an easy match. Unfortunately, after playing injured for many games, Weirzbowski finally takes a fatal hit and is laid to rest. Another Sulacan gone. Surprisingly, Hudson remains the only Sulacan to never miss a match.

Game 33: A tough match vs. a group of shambling bones and smelly rags, the Sulacans went up early despite the heavy rain. They managed a spirited defense to close out the half, but were still lucky the 'Khemri' couldn't manage a last turn handoff for the equalizer. The second half it all came apart and the tie looked assured, but the teams AG4 players and a handful of support (4 others actually) pulled out amazing play after play to prevent the tieing score!

Games 34-36: Participated in the XFL Human tourney. Despite playing some quality coaches the Sulacans rolled their opponents fairly easily and suffered no major injuries on their run to the Final.

Game 37, XFL Human Final vs. 1.FC Nuln: As brutal a match as Team Sulaco has played in a long time. The RIPs were rolling early, both giving and receiving. Unfortunately, the Nuln squad seemed to have nuffle on their side as they maintained the player adv thru the first half, and successfully denied the Sulacans a last minute equalizing first half score. Then Nuln opened the 2nd half with TWO CONSECUTIVE BLITZES! After going down 0-2 with the Nuln wizard yet unused, the Sulacans pulled off an amazing sequence of turns to clear the ball and drive for a score. But en route Hicks was slain by Gregor Gehma, whose pomb was on fire (team apo used on a previous Gregor rip!). In the end the Nuln heavy hitting, Blitzes, and being short-handed spelled doom for the Sulacans, who limp away in sadness after losing team anchor, Cpl. Hicks.
