Coach: Gimpogorgon

The lizardfolk of Spitzburgh are a fierce clan of Seraphons who fought each other for centuries over territory (about 3 square miles of it). Secluded from the outside world, it took a wandering apothecary to introduce them to the violent sport of Blood Bowl.

He was on his way to the Deadlands for a match when he wandered aimlessly into Spitzburgh, and was captured. About to be eaten, he got the attention of Chief Lizarus by pleading with him to let him treat his wounded clan members in return for his life.

Over dinner that very evening, the mighty Seraphons of Spitzburgh would learn of the Blood Bowl tournament. The apothecary had been convinced to teach them of the way of the Bowl, and thus he did. Overtime, Spitzburgh clans fought each other on the pitch rather than on the fields of the Burgh (which was a mile long patch of dry land...that became the pitch).

Years later, the great apothecary was tasked with finding a coach who could teach the Seraphons fundamentals and hopefully assemble a team worthy of competing in the league. The healer knew of no other than Gimpogorgon; a half deamon of Khorn. Former head coach of the The Khorn Unholy O's of Ostereich. The team that the apothecary was hired to work for...which he never made it... which cost the team their star player... which cost Gimpogorgon his job...and soon after the team folded.

It took some time to summon him but he succeeded in doing so and convinced Gimpogorgon to coach the team. For three seasons he drilled them on fundamentals of tackling, receiving, passing, blocking, etc.

Then, at the end of the third season...

"It's time," the coach said; looking at the chief, "gather the team, we're leaving."

The chief looked him over, "Where are we going coach?"

Gimpogorgon pointed north. The chief lead his twelve soldiers to the edge of the pitch about thirty yards away.

"Here?", the chief said.

Gimpogorgon pointed north again, shaking his finger, "No. Further."

The Chief, the coach, the apothecary and twelve brave warriors made the journey north where the now united clans of Spitzburgh...Spitzburgh United, would begin their dynasty on the Blood Bowl pitch.

Notes:

Gimpogorgon is the only deamon blooded coach to head a team not owned by deamons. During matches against the hoards of Chaos, extra security is brought in to help thwart any assassination attempts on the coach as he has fallen out of favor with Khorn.

Twenty four skinks were killed arguing over what the mascot should be. After a mascot was created he was eaten soon after during the great water pale riot after practice one day. It was later determined that a mascot wouldn't be necessary.

The uniforms of Spitzburgh are crafted from the bones and skulls of previous players who failed to make the cut and perished. It was later decided that it would be an honor for star players who pass to have their remains fashioned into the uniform and armor and passed on to a promising young player to wear onto the pitch.
