Assassination Attempt
During their most recent match, the Sons of Brutus had an assassination attempt on their legendary catcher Snatch Engo.
Snatch had only recently attained his legendary status and it was his seventh outing since reaching this milestone. As he released the kick to start the second half a missile was fired from the stands and Snatch was buried under a 90kg rock. Such was the force that his kicking boot (and the foot inside it) went flying, hiting rotter Fredrick Strongbone square in the face.
The Apothecary was able to revive Snatch Engo from was looked to be a terminal injury, even recovering and attaching the missing foot. Unfortunately the Apothecary was unable to repair all, and the spinal damage that Snatch suffered lingers on, threatening further serious injury should he play on.
Whether this was an attack on the team, or something more personal. On one hand there was a subsequent fireball attack shortly after the rock took down Snatch. On the other, the catcher did attract an investigation early in his career surrounding corruption within the sport. For those of you with extra arms, it is worth noting the third hand, how was the Engo family fortune made?
A reward of 100,000 gold for the head of the person or persons responsible for this attack has been offered, with the Skavenblight based law firm Whiscur, Klaus & Tayels posting this bounty on behalf of an anonymous sponsor.

It was a big rock that almost killed him so I suspect a ogre. Perhaps the fact that your team is not currently employing a ogre angered him?. Perhaps a rejected former employee?

I suspect a big guy to be the perp...I have investigated the size, weight, trajectory of the rock. It came from the endzone, section 27 row 35. That area of the stadium is where the Big guys are with all their snotling friends, those gits.
I have done some snooping around and it does seem like an ogre might be the guy who threw the rock. Have you denied any employment interviews of late. Turned a big guy away from filling a slot on a team...If so I would go back to your ogre job applications file. He probally is in there.

If it was a big guy and he's come up with this plan by himself, then I'd hire him! An evil genius the size of a barn door, would make a hell of a bloodbowl player.
