Quitting
Four days ago I played a Box game against a noob. It was his second game ever on fumbbl. I was playing my newly created Goblin team and he played a rookie elf team, and it went well. Nuffle began favouring me after a while and I got some cas against him. They were all BH though and his team was in no long term danger. Nevertheless, he decided to quit in turn 14 or 15. I sent him a pm about it, waited for 15 mins, then sent him another pm asking him to contact me next time he went online and we'd set a date for finishing the game. I still haven't heard from him, and I suspect I never will.

At first this pissed me off. It's not often you get to outbash your opponent as gobbos, and my team would have benefited a lot from those SPP's. And in any case, abandoning a game is very bad manners. But after my initial disappointment had passed I came to realise that this is only the second time ever that an opponent has quit on me like that, since I started fumbbling three years ago. All the other countless times that games have disconnected opponents have always made sure to contact me and finish the game. So I take this opportunity to give some cred to all you fumbblers out there, veterans as well as noobs, who keep playing even if you're losing badly and your whole team is crippled for life. Without that commitment the site would never work. And let's hope my Little Green Barbarians get to meet another Pro Elf team next time :)

*Edit. I initially put the name of my opponent in this blog. I didn't realise this was a violation of site policy and I changed the post after only having been up for 30 secs or so. I apologise and hope no harm has been done.

But that aside, go Goblins!

The incident is so specific, a look at your overview will automatically name the coach (fitting name, btw :))

Admins should be able to sort this out by conceding the match in your favor, since it's so late into the game.

Hopefully the match will be conceded to you.

Ah yeah, you're right... That's kind of difficult though, there's really no way to discuss this without people being able to look it up :/

I'll talk to admin about conceding the game, would be nice.

Got the concession, all is well.

-1 for the Admin in question confusing Obelix with Vitalstatistix, though. (Admittedly, those guys have different names in every language they get translated too, so that IS a bit confusing :))

Obviously the german names are best :)

Yes but +1 for the admin in question for being amazingly funny!

+2, actually ;)

I realise now I've confused some of the names too, apparently troubadix is cacaphonix in english, and majestix is vitalstatistix. Must have checked wikipedia in the wrong language :P

+1 to the OP.
FUMBBL has a great community, even though it grumbles to itself on occasion.
