Good Morning Coaches, Bob and I have pleasure in presenting the season 3 round 5 weekly awards.
Jim, it was always going to be difficult to live up to last week's league equalling 5 CAS spree, but this week Dietmar Althoff of the Cascade leaps(or should that be piles on?) to the top of the CAS season standings with a
2 CAS performance in his teams loss to the buccaneers.
It was a good effort though Bob, SI(MNG) Cade McNown in the first half and then SI (N) rookie Demart Dotson in the second.
Yes Jim, it was a measure of revenge for Althoff in game that ran away from the Cascade.
On to our
Ground Player winner, Bob and this week the award goes to Fast Eddie of the Barboza Bruisers.
What a week for Fast Eddie, Jim. He scored all three TD's in a thrilling 3-3 draw against the Wolfenburg Wolfskins.
Fast eddie made a break for it (1)T8 and scored on (1)T9.
(2)T3 he gets the handoff and puts on the after burners for the endzone scoring on (2)T5.
Finally, he completes the hatrick on (2)T11 picking up the loose ball and scoring, what he thought might be with winning TD.
Great week for Fast Eddie Bob, but this is again one of those weeks when the DLE does us proud as we have a simply stunning play for this weeks POMB Play of the Week.
Only one word to describe this Jim, Fil-thy!
You are right Bob, a deserving winner for POW!
Step forward RGIII of the Erengrad Vikings.
The Grizzlies are 2-1 up with ball surrounded in 3TZ's on the Vikings last turn.
Sully Johnson, dodges away from a grizzlie and makes it to the end zone.
Then the magic happens, RGIII makes a 4+ dodge into two TZ's then 4 consecutive dodges into taklezones each on a 3+.
He picks up the ball in a TZ and then dodges out and makes a GFI, to then throw a 3+ pass successfully to Sully Johnson.
If that wasn't stunning enough, RGIII used not one rr in his sequence of plays!!! the only rr used was by johnson with catch!
Bob, i know maths is not your strong point, so believe me when i tell you that there was statistically a 2% chance of RGIII pulling of that pass to Johnson.
Wow Jim, it makes my head hurt to think of it! Not sure how the league will top that for a play of the year contender!
Knowing our coaches Bob, they will find away!
Good bye from me and good bye from Bob and we will see you for round 6.
