I have a soft spot for Slann, though God knows why given my current trophy nightmare and Candlejack has said we need a little talk next time he is in York following his three skull review (ulp). Anyway, to get back to the point, this is a very good, but not great, Slann team. I'm not sure what the move9 blitzer will contribute with that movement and can't help feeling he would have been better off with mb/tackle/guard for less tv. I can see why you took the first movement for his first roll, as who knows what is coming, but I'd have passed on the second for sure. What makes Slann gold is having a reliable sacker and a guard catcher who can leap in on a 2+ and this team doesn't quite have that. Their win record is a concern too. Annoyingly, the other team actually have loads of potential with a ag4 blitzer (gold) and a move 9 catcher (gold). If you have the time I would try and spam matches with Mr Slann a lot and keep So you wanna as back up.
Champ rating: So you wanna - three skulls and Mr Slann (as they are now) two skulls |

A great entry, guided I must begin by saying, by a superb coach. Strider knows how to build a team and given the limitations of the race, this one is built as well as any. On the plus side, they have an ag3 ogre carrier, who is going to be tough to stop. On the down side, 'only' three block from eight ogres and a fairly high rating, especially after the last ogre comes back means they are liable to get wizzed, which means elves will fancy their chances. Were it not for the coach, I would be rating this one between zero and one skull.

This one has been nagging at me for two days and I am changing it. Now I have done a lot more reviews, this one has increasingly felt too low.

The management would like to apologise to Mr Strider for any offence caused. The opinions in these post are those of the idiot hack we employ and not the management company. |

Right I am off on the sauce. I believe I have two to do at time of writing so will look at those later/tomorrow. If you haven't posted your team yet, throw it in, or don't if you're the sensitive type, as long as you enter! |

On their day, they'll beat any major winner, but relying on the inevitable 3+ or even 4+ is ... yeah. |

A well built team where team value has been carefully kept under control meaning it punches well for it's tv compared to some of the chaos teams for example. There's a very solid carrier, a really good sacker and plenty of solid guard for back up. With only one mb other than the big guys, they will rely heavily on those for damage. Lack of block on all three is a bit concerning so they will need to look to set up plenty of 3d. I can see them getting outmuscled by some of the bigger teams, but at least they will have inducements to give them a chance. Their win ratio is very impressive and they have a very good coach to give them a chance in any match up.

I usually expect skaven to be able to get everything they need for around 210 so I was slightly surprised when I saw them at 233, but when I looked closer I could see why and it has all been well spent. The key to any skaven are the gutters and these shine. They have a sacker who blitzes as str4, with another sacker as back up an ag5 leaper to retrieve it, or another who leaps on a 2 as well. This is backed up by the standard killer blitzers and some useful lineman. They have 16 men in case of accidents and will be a proper handful for any opponent. Personally I'd be tempted to drop the rogre to get the rating down, but I can see why he is there, or perhaps a rr. A very good coach on top means they should go deep.

I'm going to go through and group teams by rating for the front page so it will be easier to keep an eye out for them in the tourney. |

With and without the resurrection of Wynn Loon |
Another excellent coach with a very interesting elf team and a previous winner no less. The elves are coming in at a surprisingly low 203, though they have two mng, including a very good catcher, so around 230 is their actual rating when all fit. Surely you can find a bunch of suckers, I mean a competitive game, in ranked before Wed to get those guys back whilst remaining intact. The catchers are great, they have two mb, three guard and two ag5. Again, no-one wants to face this team in a one-off game. I'm going to assume they play a match and get those guys back, otherewise a nasty first round draw and the dream could be over before it begins.

I have been back and collated all reviews done up to this point and they are now grouped by skull rating in the first post. As further reviews happen, I will add them too. |
