Do people use chameleon skinks?
I got a league coming up and thinking to add or leave the chameleon skink in the roster.
First game is against slann so the chameleon could be a good defensive player. But after that, nurgle,dwarves,...i would rather have the move8 over the useless skills the chameleon has.
Anybody any insight on the little dudes? |

Don't take them, normal Skinks are better. |

Chameleon seems situational to me.
quite useful vs agile teams and stunties as it is, worse after taking side step;
Against bashers isnt really worth his value and a normal skink do his job better. |

I like pass block and Shadowing as extra skills, so I think they might be quite useful. |

Don't.

It won't be, they leap and dodge on the same dice, so shadowing is useless, and they dont pass. You just paid 10k more to lose 1 MA.

Exactly.

Yes, you do, and so does everyone else, they are terrible.
I could make a case that a developed Lizzard team adding a player to replace losses, or on top of already skilled skinks, could use the variety and instant skills, especially in a tournament setting where instant power for tv is essential. but I won't, because they are terrible. |

I have been buying one for my Audi League team.
It's not worth having, and is a poor choice.
This annoys my opposition, and they seek to take out their rage on my chameleon, often avoiding better targets.
It's a meta-win, if a theoretically suboptimal choice.

I bought one yesterday as a 13th player. It meant I was left with 90k instead of 100k in my treasury so didn't have to do an expenses roll. A boon indeed. |

Disclaimer - I am not a Lizards player and have no direct experience re the Chameleon
But, if you play for the fun, the chaos and the odd time weird skills come up in play and are not worried about the things like TV bloat, he's a funny little character. MA7 is still quick, sure its not as quick as a skink, but sometimes you can say "who cares" |

My experience is it is possibly "worth" it to have 1 at higher TVs when you will already have 14+ players. At this point starting with shadowing is nice. I don't love it on 7MA but its a control skill that can fill in if you are low on DT.
I would never start with one and not even consider one until I had the RR I want and a deep bench with well skilled Saurus. |

Why not just roll +2 AV, +2 MA, Block and +ST on your Chameleon? Seems simple enough to me. I'd say go for +2 ST to deal with those mean little dorfs, but that's just too easy |

had a game vs lizards the other day. He had a chance to tie on turn16...but the skink 10 spaces from my endzone was a chameleon.
I won. |
