https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/08/31/nova-open-previews-suck-at-blood-and-not-blood-bowl-with-the-drakfang-thirsters/
A brand new plastic Vampire Blood Bowl team is coming to a stadium near you, now with added positionals and an updated Bloodlust trait.
The full-blooded Vampire players are a force to be reckoned with, able to sprint like an Elf, blitz like an Orc, and throw like another, different Elf. The Hypnotic Gaze skill is perfect for setting up explosive plays, and is shared by all of their Blitzers, Runners, and Throwers.
Despite their physical dominance and immortal experience, Vampires are still afflicted by their hunger for blood, and the casual violence of an average Blood Bowl game can whip their thirst to a fever pitch. Luckily, the team box includes eight Thrall Linemen, who run double-duty as handy portable snacks when their betters feel the urge – as evidenced by the bite marks.
Each miniature has a wealth of customisation options to make sure your players stand out, and the set also comes with four Vampire-themed balls – including a small gargoyle wrapped up in belts – as well as two coffin-esque turn markers and two double-sided coins. |

"all of their Blitzers, Runners, and Throwers"
This sounds as if GW is introducing Vampire positionals. Cool, possibly.
In their current form, vampires are hardly playable. Any change will be for the better. |

Yeah, the reveal video from Nova told us that the Blitzers have Juggernaut, the Runners are MV8, and the Throwers have Pass |

Judging from the sizes of the models, it kind of looks like the runners and throwers are ST3. I think if Jayward is right and they have some skills, that probably isn't really an impact. A St3 Hypnogaze is only a little worse than a ST4 (more vulnerable to return hits) and you'd be blitzing with the ST4 blitzer anyways.
Really interested to see the new take on bloodlust. |

I would hate to get throwing at the cost of strength, so here's hoping that isn't the case for the throwers. |

hardly playable? I don't recall them looking THAT bad. Tier 2, maybe low tier 2, but they don't seem unplayable by any means. What makes you think they're so low? |

They're currently very bad https://fumbbl.com/p/rosterstats?y=2023
38% winrate, 3rd worst roster. only ogres and gobs are worse
I think it might be in the style of the new Amazon re-work. My guess is:
0-2 Blitzers M6 S4 A3+ P4+ AV9+
0-2 Runners M8 S3 A2+ P4+ AV8+
0-2 Throwers M6 S3 A2+ P2+ AV9+
Thralls same as currently
Which makes them kinda like High Elves / Elven Union.. and makes 1turning viable. This would be a big change to their previous sacking based playstyle |

If you look at the coaches with a vampire ranking, a lot of them have a 0/0/X record, where X varies
They are not intuitive to use, the statline gives an impression that lures people, who are then betrayed in their expectations.
In that specific regard CRP vampires were very much the same, but the presence of high TV perennial teams (who are not around in C) buffed that overall win percentage to the mid-40s |

Given bloodlust, I'm hoping for
0-4 blitzer 6 4 2+ 4+ 10+ juggernaut bloodlust hypno regen
0-2 runner 8 3 2+ 5+ 9+ hypno bloodlust regen
0-1 thrower 6 4 2+ 2+ 9+ pass hypno bloodlust regen |

Awesome ! The rumours were true, for once. I wonder what this new Bloodlust is going to look like. |

This would be a signicant boost no? In the right hands, I'd be concerned this could be broken. |

Conventional wisdom implies that all three positions are 0-2
Leader access and speed are both huge boosts |

I think MA8 already shows conventional wisdom has been ground underfoot and thrown away. |
