Tour 2009
The Tour is decided. It was not exactly the dramatic final I would have hoped for, but I`m really happy to have the title safe.

Since I had heard about the format (after my big break), I was looking forward to compete in this. This is also why I volunteered to keep scores etc. when the tour as 'count series' was heavily criticized and a some people called to scrap the format. Looking back on the competition, I`m happy that it played out relatively well and I hope that you all enjoyed the format, too.

With the last event now running, I guess it`s also time to go hunting for input on how to improve it further. The scoring system has been brought up and that`s an area we`ll be looking into for sure. Maybe we can upgrade the prize for the Tour Champ 2010. I`m also thinking about a Tour Final event, where the top8 are allowed to enter and duke it out for the title. TR cap would be 120+Tourpoints, so that it would also be important by how much you lead. The coach with the most points should be clear favorite, but that way he could defeat his competitors directly.

Anyhow.. thank you all for your participation that made this year`s tour what it is and I`m happy for suggestions how to improve the format, either here or in the Tour Thread

I like the idea of the top 8 to go into a KO tournament for the title, that way nothing is decided before the last game is played. It seems a bit lame with it already being decided before the last tour.

It was awesome to do a couple of the tours and major 'grats on the victory.

Rlly busy at work at present and totally didn't have enough time to commit to all of them - with team building required as well. Indeed I suffered in one of them, coming up against an overpowered tourney-built orc team with a scratch-built three-match team.

I think the format is great, and the variety interesting. If you want to make the tour closer, it might be worth taking the best four (number to be agreed, obviously) results from each coach in the varying tourneys. That way, having one or two rlly bad tours wouldn't necessarily scratch you out as a tour winner.

I'm not sure the final 8 KO tourney suits me. After all, that would come more down to which team you could best pimp for the finals, rather than your efforts over the tour. Bit too English Premier rugby scoring system for me... (you can win the premiership, even if you've been whipped several times during the season and lie fourth).

I like the idea but it sort of betrays the point of the tour... will think about it.

Yeh SillySod I know what you mean about tour points, but then the Tennis tour is 'decided' by a top 8 tourney (in London this year :D) that stands alone on it's own so there are parallels, it could just count for double tour points, which should keep the thing alive till the final game
